Not similar, no. You have to realize that the location of HDLM and Thursday's was crucial. Thursday's was located in the heart of Crescent Street and was connected via tunnel to the HDLM lobby and piano bar. Do you appreciate and understand the significance of this location? There is no other location like this. That was the lynchpin to the success and reputation of these places.
There are certain late night places where SPs reportedly hang out - after hours clubs and the like. Zestos had a reputation, years ago, for being a late night dining destination for drivers, escorts and pimps, but that was back in the days of very few late night choices. I was at Zestos for late night food back in the day. The food was terrible back then, and there is so much late night competition in 2013, that I would be surprised if they are still in business serving the shit they were preparing.
There will never be another Thursdays or HDLM because you cannot duplicate the location and you cannot duplicate tradition. HDLM was an old fashioned, old school hotel.
It's like asking if there will be another 56 game hitting streak in baseball, matching Joe D's legendary hitting streak in 1941. No, there won't be. Too many changes have happened and there is just too much involved. It will never happen.
