Don't go to Starbucks or Kinko's; they will charge you for internet access.

Try a public or university library; wi-fi for free.

I went to a friend's house and he did not think I would get a connection but this little bugger tells me all the networks it finds, secured and unsecured, and lo and behold, I found an unsecured network and got Internet access. I wouldn't do my banking on that network, but it was sufficient to get and stay online. The connection was good and the speed excellent.

Congrats EB! Sounds like you got a great deal and that's great to hear. How do you like Vista?

Vista is pretty good, but I am still getting used to it. The Windows Media Player came preloaded with music - including Beethoven's symphony #3 in e flat major, as well as assorted jazz nd contemporary selections. The quality of the sound is extraordinary- most impressive. It obviates the need for me to even have a stereo. I am listening to Ludwig van B as I write this. On past trips to Montreal, escorts I saw would complain about there not being a good music player because the clock radios, even in the better Montreal hotels, pretty much suck. This completely blows away any Montreal hotel clock radio. I need to get some other music on here now, although I am enjoying Beethoven.
