I used to like Seattle this year until their recent debacles. New England and the Eagles look for real, while the Jets' record is significantly pumped-up as a result of playing no one their first 5 games (even though they were in pretty tough with NE). Tennessee is a big dissapointment and Indy needs to gets things under control before they completely lose it....although their offence is so potent, they should be ok. JAX is a huge surprise to me and who the hell would have said San Diego would be 4-3 after 7 games? Pretty impressive.

Seemingly, the elite teams look to be the Pats and Eagles. But much can change. I just hope someones wallops Terrell Owens soon and knock some sense into him. Yeah, we know you're great, T.O., now just play the damn game and shut up.

I was Penn State Nittany Lions Fan, but its performance is so poor that I have given up. The other teams I like are Gators (Florida) and Wolverines (Michigan).

I was up for Giants versus Expos. During my visit learned of the Alouettes playing at McGill but was told the game was already sold out. I saw on a news show that they are going to start playing @ Le stade Olympique Shouldn't sell out there should they?

Andre Rison has been a non-factor with the Argos. Apart from getting into a fight minutes into his first game, and criticizing the league's referees, he has been a spare player and named the team's assistant coach in charge of wide receivers.

The Argos now have former Heismann trophy winner Eric Crouch (Nebraska) in town, trying to coax him into joining the team next year.

Dee: i used to bet on Football and Basketball through a site called www.thegreek.com. I'm not sure if it still exists, but i'd be surprised if it doesn't. It's an offshore online casino located in Jamaica. I give it high marks.

Finally some replies. I knew I couldn't be the only football fan here.

I like Seattle as well, & Tennesee is a real huge disappointment.
I've always liked Jax Jaguars, & the Chargers are doing better than the Bengals this year.

The Bengals have been one of my teams for a long time & last year was a great season, they were one game short of a playoff spot thanks to Baltimore & this year they aren't doing what they were supposed to be doing as CBS perdicted them to go to the playoffs this year. But at least they had huge wins in their 14yr abscence from primetime games.

I like the 49ers to but not so much this year as they've let me down.

As for the Als playing at the "Big O", I'm not sure that will happen as they never sold out in that stadium & I was there at some games when Tracy Ham was QB who was good, & there were never more than 5,000 ppl.

As much as I like Toronto, I think Montreal will remain the dominant force in the East.

Have any of you football fans had any experience with online betting... if so could you let us know what site you use and your experience with it.

Thanks.

Dee

No, but I also heard there was a 1-800# that you can call to place NFL bets.

I am very surprised that Andre Rison hasn't done more than he has this year as he is very capable of doing more.

I'm not into betting, way too risky.

Well my CFL teams are:

Montreal of course
Hamilton
Toronto as I grew up in these 2 places
Ottawa
Edmonton
BC

My NFL teams are for the NFC
The Dallas Cowboys
St. Louis Rams
Tampa Bay Bucs
NY Giants
Seattle

My AFC teams are
The Cincinnati Bengals
The Indianapolis Colts
The PittsBurgh Steelers
The Buffalo Bills (I know, I know, but I loved them with Doug Flutie)

NCAA Football is:

Notre Dame has always been my #1 team
Penn State even with the last few years
Florida State
Florida
Miami
Ohio State
NC State
Michigan
Michigan State
South Carolina (Lou Holtz ex Notre Dame coach's team)

I know I like a lot of teams in each of the leagues, but the problem is there are many players I follow & when they get drafted, they usually get spread out around the league.

So I'm stuck following the different teams they play on & I eventually get hooked on that team.

As for NCAA football there are just sooo many teams to follow & I think I'm following enough teams, more than most ppl.

It's nice to talk football around here.

Oh did anyone else notice ex-WR Yo Murphy who won the Super Bowl with the Rams against Tenesee is now playing for the Ottawa Renegades?

He's doing well there.

True, not doing so well this year, but I am a 49er FAITHFUL
As far as betting goes I'm live in a town where I can legally place a wager just a few steps away from my workplace or a small drive from home. I don't bet alot, and the killer is the point spread. Just how do they know????!!!!! Jeez talk about a science! Remember the old adage,"The only one who ever gets rich in a casino is the owner".

Yeah I hear you, weren't Joe Montana & Steve Young great QB's for the 9er's?

First, despite that Rison hadn't played a pro football game in many years before arriving in TO and was unfamiliar with the CFL game and its rules until then, it's remarkable to note that it only took him about 2 weeks to get into game shape and pick up the Canadian game well enough to be able to suit up for a regular mid-season game!

I've seen him make a few good catches this year including the oustanding grab he made for a touchdown one night at skydome- even though replay later showed the ball had barely touched the ground as he was trying to make the catch.

Yeah I saw a few of those catches on highlight reels on Sports Center.

I thought Andre was with either the Browns or the Chiefs the last few years?

As i said.....Rison has been a non-factor. I never said that it was strictly his fault. The problem is, he's a victim of the numbers' game. Their wide receivers are now all healthy and back playing. He hasn't been away from the game for that long, has he? I suppose that the main reason why he decided to return to professional football was money, after losing in court and having to pay alimony to the mother of a child he conceived a few years ago. Ah, football players......great role models, aren't they? :)

What are your:

Grey Cup predictions?

I'm going with Montreal Vs. Edmonton & Montreal wins by 10 points.

NCAA I perdict that USC & UCLA will go to the Rose Bowl & Oklahoma will win the No.1 title, unlike last year where 2 teams shared the championship one of them being LSU.

Here is a link to the NCAA college football rankings:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/polls/2004/ap/index.html

For the NFL I'm going with CBS's prediction of the New England Patriots Vs. The Philidelphia Eagles & this year the Eagles are going out on top by 7 points over the Patriots.

But none of the usual strong teams in the NFL this year are doing what they usually do.

Although I hate the new Patriot team, I loved the Patriot team that had Drew Bledsoe as QB, totally uncool what they did to him, Bill Parcells was head coach, Curtis Martin was RB, Ben Coates was TE & they had just side Willie McGuinest.

Take care.

I loved watching Doug Flutie & WR Eric Moulds hook up for all those TD's.

And watching the great Canadian kicker Steve Christie from Oakvill Ontario.

A close friend of my father, this friend's daughter went to highschool with Steve Christie & was friends with him.

Now she's in Seattle & goes to many games.

But I am happy to say that New England finally lost to another good team Pittsburgh.

I saw an interview with Jerome Bettis who said last week that he doesn't want any other team to beat New England before Pittsburgh does.

& woudln't you know it, the Steelers beat them congrats are in order.
& the Jets are for real as I saw the game last night with friends.

So Alouette playoff time in a couple of weeks.

November 14th Sunday.

I will be there with a friend & my father.

Our regular season ticket seats are at the 10 yard line on the high side of the stands in the J section.

During the Ottawa game at the Olympic stadium they put my father who went with clients in the endzone.

Last year's playoff game they put us in the exactly the same seats as we have during the season.

Personally I think they should put the regular season ticket holders down on the field at the 50 yard line & other neighbouring seats.

To rip off the regular season ticket holders like that isn't right.

Take care.

I was at the last Grey Cup at the Big O a few years ago. I had asked for 50-yard line tickets and they agreed, charging me like $200 per seat. When I got there, I was seated by the 20-yard line.

Nowadays I stay home, you see much better on TV...
