The Mods may have had good reason for deleting that thread, because this kind of thing leads to stalking, obsession, and criminality..
I could be wrong about that thread, but I don’t think any SPs were mentioned by name nor were any specific details of situations mentioned. I think that thread had been around for over a year.

I think it contained general discussions about how not to fall in love with an SP, or how to handle situations in which a client felt he was getting too involved with an SP, etc.

It seems that if a user is banned, all the threads that the user started get deleted.

Anyway, I don’t care if it gets restored or not, I don’t have any particular interest. I was just mentioning it in case it wasn’t purposely deleted by the mods and if it’s possible to restore it without requiring a huge effort.

If not, it’s fine, all good!

It has nothing to do with the content of the thread. That’s just how the platform works.

If an account is deleted, all of the posting it’s made will also be deleted

the best is to keep going, keep booking, until you find the next “her”.

Sounds unnecessarily unhealthy. You will never find someone like her. You may find someone that reminds you of her but she will never be her and eventually you’ll think about it and be miserable because she’s not her

Oh, that’s too bad!
MODS: is there a way to bring back that thread even if the OP of that thread was banned ?

The member, before starting to throw insults at others, deleted most of the threads he had started. That was one of them.

As a general rule, the moderation does not undelete threads that a member got rid of, unless they contact the moderation team and ask a thread they deleted to be brought back.

Thank you for the explanation!
Now that Mod21 explained it, I do remember threads being "brought back", Lazarus style, from the Dead. I think it's only done when the deleted thread is deemed worthy of preservation notwithstanding what the OP felt. In other words, you can't just pick up and your toys and go home, if a toy was shared with the community that is fun, interesting, or useful.

I am just wondering how that criteria applies here, because I don't remember the deleted content.

A lot of you probably do not remember this, but there was an incident back in around 2005 (approximately). At that time there was an agency or consortium of independents called French Kiss Society. There was a client of one of the escorts who worked there who began stalking her. She apparently obtained a protective order of some kind, and the dude, who was a poster on MERB under handle of Ponpon, was criminally charged for behavior of stalking the escort. The Mods, at the time, did not ban Ponpon as he had not broken any board rules and his case was handled in the criminal justice system. After he served his punishment, I remember he posted (in French, although he spoke a few words of English) that his punishment was done, whatever it was.

I don''t specifically recall what was posted in the deleted thread, but these threads that are about the subject of falling in love with SPs, or warning people not to, are generally encouraging stalkers or other unhealthy behaviors of obsession or misogyny. I am guessing some SPs may have complained about them as well, although I do not know.

If you cannot separate fantasy from reality, it is really time to stop seeing escorts. And that is really the bottom line.
Wow lets not get ahead of ourselves here, i remember reading this post too and it made a lot of sense, no SP were mentioned but I do remember also a lot of members were hard on the dude insults goes both ways. Now i am staying neutral in all of this because I have been here for a short time, and am not aware of the full story, but you can never know a person until you walk in there shoes, from what i read he been cheated on, he lost is house or 2 and been insulted many times.

Then he tried to explain what he was going through and got bashed by a few people on here, again showing that humans enjoy kicking people when they are down.

Yes its quit sad that this post was deleted because it had a lot of great info and a lot of people also replied it made it great sad it cannot be undeleted and brought back.

Now EagerBeaver i am not saying mentally ill people cannot do those sort of things, look at the paper all that is going on with violence, femicide, and more, in the end escorts are brave people because they never really know who they will be dealing with, while the client be aggressive, lack respect, is depressed, look at that idiot who killed is wife with a hammer for some reason he was set free in Quebec was with an SP and strangled her, went to the police to confess. What was he doing outside 4y later after he murdered is wife, and is patrol agent authorized him to see SP for sexual release.

There is a lot of confusion in this world and its not going to get better.

As I previously said I didn't read the thread content and just the thread title but if it's one of those threads where the poster doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between fantasy and reality it will draw the response you described all the time. The thread title was about warning people "not to fall in love with an SP." If you understand the difference between fantasy and reality, no warning is needed!!!!!!!

You say you have not been here long. I have been here since the Board started in 2003 and before. I have seen many threads started along these lines, usually by younger guys unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality. I have seen the same thing at the MERB parties that we had from 2005 to 2017 or so. I attended approximately 15-20 MERB and agency parties. I saw the same issues at those parties and several younger members were banned from those parties for the same or similar reasons. Either falling for SPs or believing they needed to be "saved" or "reformed".These guys creeped the shit out of girls and scared them away from parties. I remember at least 3-4 such members. Some of them were actually nice guys but very naive and just didn't understand or get the lines that need to be drawn and respected by clients.

One thing that has changed since 2003 is more SPs post and the Moderation, appropriately, will listen to them if these kinds of issues crop up. It seems like the OP got insulted, picked up his toys and left when he deleted the thread. Whether he took something of value with him or not isn't for you to determine, it's for the Mods to determine. Assuming you are right that things of value were deleted, the thread will be restored. I am not in a position to say, as I neither read the thread nor am a Mod sitting in judgment of it. However, if you are new here, then you don't know the history, and you and the OP may well have learned a little by knowing and paying some homage to it. The bottom line is the fantasy/reality line cannot be crossed, and most people do know when it has been. If Mod21 thinks the thread should be restored, then restore it. If not, then do not do so. I will support the decision either way. I don't specifically remember anything about the thread or even whether I posted in it.
