Bulgari - Octo Automatic Blue | Bulgari Bulgari Automatic Blue

Hello all
http://www.timeandwatches.com/2015/01/bulgari-octa-automatic-and-bulgari.html
Bulgari high Jeweller maker and nice watches

n 1975 Bulgari introduced the iconic "Bulgari Roma" watch designed by Gerald Genta. It was followed in 1977 by the "Bulgari Bulgari" model, where a second "Bulgari" was engraved on the bezel in place of "Roma".

To celebrate 40 years since that marking year, Bulgari is expected to unveil several new models at BaselWorld 2015. We can offer here two previews, both characterized by metallic blue dials, of the upcoming 2015 novelties.

The Octo Automatic Blue Dial, with its distinctive octagonal case, comes in stainless steel with a diameter of 38 mm and will be available with a leather strap or with a steel bracelet with retail prices of Swiss Francs 6,300 and 6,900 respectively.

Overall, the Octo line was received very well by watch enthusiasts, especially in its ultra-thin declination, the Finissimo.

The Bulgari Bulgari Automatic Blue Dial in stainless steel will be available with a case diameter of 41 mm and will be offered with the option of a leather strap or a steel bracelet at retail prices of Swiss Francs 5,950 and 6,550 respectively.

Both watches are powered by the mechanical self-winding Calibre BVL 191 which Bulgari developed and produced in-house.

Backed up by a 42-hour power reserve and beating at 28,800 vph, the movement drives the hours, minutes, seconds as well as a date display at 3 o’clock. It features automatic winding via a ball bearing-mounted ceramic oscillating weight as well as an instant date change over a short three-minute period and a stop- seconds device that blocks the balance when the crown is pulled out.

Baume & mercier torbillon

Hello all

Baume & Mercier Tourbillon Last is the Tourbillon model in the newest Baume et Mercier William Baume lineup. You don't often hear about Baume et Mercier releasing a Tourbillon. This may not be the first model, but it is one of only a few. This is a very simple integration of a tourbillon complication. Often times, the price required to own a tourbillon is so high, that the new owner demands flamboyance to come extent. Not here. You The William Baume is an extraordinarily straight forward watch. Hours, minutes, and seconds, which are interestingly enough not integrated into the tourbillon window (often times, a tourbillon watch will use a tourbillon that spins completely on its axis once every 60 seconds, and thus it doubles as a seconds display). The movement is the manually-wound Baume et Mercier WB-T002, with a tourbillon built in. The William Baume Tourbillon is a bit larger than the other two models at 43mm wide. While it is a nice model, its market is limited, and Baume et Mercier was wise to keep it at only 10 pieces.

Always a pleasure to read you Booker :)

Apple watch ? The gold one , made to an alloy in gold an sapphire to make it hard to scratch.... Hubblot as it Magic gold in the same process .
paying for 10 000 $$$ for an electronic watch who is going to be obsolete in 3 years is far fetched even if it accomplishes all of its promise.
18 hours of battery is not enough for someone active who can shed that kind of money .
for the aluminum model starting at 350 for the 38mm and 400 for the 42mm , stainless is 550 for 38mm and 600 for 42mm.
Its not over sized at 42 mm an rolex submariner is 40mm.

Ill wait for the next generation of watch from apple ... just remember first iphone did not have wifi and the progress after 8 years ...

so for 10000 if i was a billionaire i would think about it ;)

if any one wants to make an haute horlogerie app it should be a repetion minute that could be cool :)

BookerL et al,

First post long time hobbyist. I love watches and have started building up a small collection. So far the following:
Tisso t005 (brown/blue face)
Oris williams f1 automatic
Hamilton Viewmatic Openheart
IWC Novecento Perpetual Calendar
couple of Folli Follie watches which don't really belong in this group, but are gorgeous.

BTW, heading to Montreal this week to knock 3 off the TDL (duo-Jezabelle & Gabriele plus Chloe). Should be epic week.

BookerL,

One final addition: My dream watch (as of today) is the IWC Siderale Scafusia. Released last year, this is IWC’s most complex watch and is more interesting for what’s on its rear side than its dial. Namely, a phenomenal map of the heavens, each designed on a bespoke basis to reflect the night sky according to coordinates supplied by the buyer. Watch it rotate through the yellow horizon circle, reflecting exactly what you see as you look up. Throw in a complex perpetual calendar, sunrise/sunset indicators, a sidereal time display (time unadjusted for the earth’s irregular orbit, astronomy fans), and a humungous tourbillon escapement rotating in the dial, and you see why IWC charges 750,000 Swiss francs apiece.

I don't have anything in 18-carat red gold, so that option seems very interesting. I prefer double deployment buckles (my Tissot and Oris both sport them) and I think alligator would be the choice for this one. As an amateur astrophotographer, this watch hold special interest for me.

Hello all
One of the best Trilogy of watches
Ulysse Nardin's
"Trilogy of Time" Set,

http://www.p178host.com/0tp178/mh/Trilogy_set/Trilogy_set.html

Twenty years ago, in 1983, Ulysse Nardin was a company that shared a fate very common in that time's Swiss watch industry, which was in the middle of what today is called the "quartz crisis": It had a long and rich tradition, but no future. Luckily, Ulysse Nardin was saved from becoming a chapter in the "gone, but not forgotten"-book of watchmaking, when Rolf Schnyder purchased the company. He knew that the only chance to save UN would be by claiming a place among the top manufacturers immediately and successfully. For this purpose, a radically new and hitherto unseen wristwatch was needed.
The rest is legendary: Together with Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, UN produced an astronomical wristwatch, the Astrolabium, which amazed the public when it was presented in 1985, only two years after Rolf Schnyder took over the helm. Three years later, the Planetarium followed, and in 1992 the Tellurium completed the "Trilogy of Time", which has achieved a nearly mythical status in the world of horology.

To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of his fateful purchase of Ulysse Nardin, Rolf Schnyder decided to reward himself with a special edition of an exclusive Trilogy set:

The cases of all three watches is made of platinum, but this is not the only thing making the new Trilogy set so special. The design of the watches has been reworked in order to offer a perfect match: The diameters of the two smaller ones, the Astrolabium and the Planetarium, has been increased to 41.5mm, so the difference to the larger Tellurium (43mm) has become less noticeable.

The new Astrolabium

Immediately apparent, however, is the new design of the dials: Matching tones of silver, grey and metallic black offer a breathtaking contrast with the platinum's shine.

Planetarium

The colour has been applied on the metal parts by galvanizing. Of course the central design element of the Tellurium still is the Earth globe, produced in cloisonné enamel technique.

Tellurium with cloisonné enamel Earth 'dial'

A very senseful change, compared with the standard Trilogy watches, is the anti-reflective coating, applied to both sides of the domed sapphire crystals. This makes it possible to enjoy the metallic shine of the 'dials' without any disturbing reflections.

The movements of all three watches, are delicately chased and skeletonized by the hands of masters.

Only 99 Trilogy sets are made, offered in an exclusive leather case with three integrated, battery-powered watch-winders. Thus the lucky owner will have a view on a very special model of the universe, whenever he opens the case. It shows the cosmos, presented as a vision of two very special men: Ludwig Oechslin and Rolf Schnyder. Happy anniversary, Mr. Schnyder!

Some haute horlogerie pieces today are far too ornate for my tastes, but I love the understated simplicity and vintage appeal of many pieces by JLC and Glasshutte Original.

Hello Legmann and all

I do agree with you I do not collect ornated watch but complication watch
The movement for me is the main attraction.
New money have a tendency to be attracted by the bling bling
a diamond covered watch has to offer it made techromarine a very "in" watch for a while because Hollywood stars where buying .
A fully diamond dial Basel and front casing for 20k when a Rolex was 200 K for same description
of course diamonds where from SI quality down a cheaper color even below Top wesselton branding while Rolex are VVS 2 and up with D color

But it was a good show
