I've been to SF many times..it's a really nice city to visit. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on a hotel in downtown though. Everything is expensive there. SF is second only to NYC in terms of restaurants in my opinion..lots of great options there. Don't bother renting a car, you can take the BART almost everywhere you want to go. There's also Uber and Lyft for the places the BART can't take you.

I agree with SSJ, the train/subway all the way from airport to downtown is perfect. I always stayed in second rated hotel union square area. Still quite expensive.

Renting a bicycle to go all the way to Sausalito and back was so nice.

There is still a street scene right down on Powell street at night. Took 3 girls few years ago. First one turned out epic. Second a disaster. Third one a great latina which was fine. I stopped after that because in the end it's so more expensive then Montreal, and for less...

Next time I am heading Napa valley..

Cheers,

Agree with above posts. SF is fantastic for visiting and tourism, beautiful area, great night life. But don't go there as a mongering destination. Didn't try the streets but went to some of strip joints including Michell Brothers, and the Asian massage places. Very, very average and very expensive. Strip joints in particular are a scam for the most part. Don't think about their "lap dance" as anything close to what we enjoy here. And don't forget the US/Canada exchange rate. So go have fun, eat well and see nice things, keep your pink wallet for Montreal!

First class is VERY expensive... if I recall you are a tall guy and that's probably why you would prefer first class for a more confortable seating? A better option would be to select a regular seat and on pay like a 60$ extra to get a emergency isle seat where you will get extra leg space.

Around Montréal...
Really nice place to visit, a gentleman invite me there for a trip of 3 days.

We have been to the hotel Vertigo (related to the old movie of Hitchcock), the architecture, the tramway, the roads all in hills, the food & the wine, Alcatraz, the big garden in the park (don't remember the name)

A little note: It is really windy there, you should bring a good coat and also good shoes because you can walk miles and miles... and there are really nice specialized gay sexshop specialized in the male pleasures.... You might find something that you won't find elsewhere for your moments intimes...

It really worth the trip

All comments above are correct and I can confirm that it is very expensive to be in SF but it is worth it. I travel there 3-4 times a year for work and I stay for about 15 days. I always stay in the city because the traffic can be a problem at times... Recently, I am not staying at hotels anymore and I use AirBnB instead. There are many AirBnB options in the city and instead of using car rental companies, I use Turo so I get much better cars at a lower price than the traditional car rental companies - please note that parking is very expensive in SF (like everything else).

I once flew to SF first class on Delta, not bad. But if you can fly business class on United on their new Dreamliners (787?), you'll enjoy it tremendously. I made a connection from Denver to SFO on business class and sat next to a captain who was flying to SF for his next shift the next day; we had a nice chat.

I like the Hilton but The Westin next to Union Square is fabulous and it's more convenient. You can take wine bus tours to Napa. Yeah, you don't need a car. Use Uber or Lyft; there are way too much construction going on (like Montreal).

SF has its own weather. Summer can be nice but the weather tends to be the coldest depending upon which part of SF you end up in. So, always have a warm jacket with you, which will make you look like a local. If you travel in SF without a jacket (in your hand or on your body), locals will treat you like a tourist. But once your get out of SF in the Summer, it can be pretty hot and warm. SF tends to get Indian Summers (meaning, the hottest months usually are late August, September and October).

You should take the ferry to Sausalito and Tiburon. Again, take a warm jacket with you. But it almost always never rain in the Summer in SF.

As for hobbying, I can't help you. Sorry. The SP's are way too expensive in SF especially because of the rich tech dudes who can pay high $$$ because they get free food (cooked by gourmet chefs) all day long at work. I'd recommend you hobby in Montreal until you are exhausted :) before your trip to SF.

Or.... like I already mentioned in the thread, invite a girl/lady from Montreal to join you for few days if you want to be really spoiled.
Just compare: buying tickets, and her special rates for few days, you might be surprised to be able to offer you a much more unforgettable time over there that you could have imagine at first.

If you're going to San Francisco. Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair....

Echoing what ShyMan wrote....don't wear shorts to SF thinking it would be warm in the summer. You'll immediately be recognized as an uninformed tourist.

If you do decide to do that make sure you ask someone that's known to be reliable. A lot of the girls are not and will change their mind on the fly.

Also, from a tourism perspective, if you find San Francisco too damn expensive for flights, girls, hotels, food, etc. Seriously consider Lisbon, Portugal. With the exception of Alcatraz, you will be absolutely stunned at how similar they are. Lisbon has the same city hills, trams, bridges, scenic coastline, huge trees, etc. Lisbon has much older and cooler architecture and everything is a fraction of the cost of San Francisco. The food is better in Lisbon, the hiking is less crowded, the trams and trains will take you to an unlimited number of tourist attractions within 30 kilometers for almost no money, and the most stunning girls are 150 euros instead of $600-$800.

Ah..i didnt know that about Lisbon..But yes i have to say that i want to go to SF for the bridge..trains..alcatraz..etc..and the street that goes down in u turn every 2 seconds lol.and also i would like to see the home..or the park close by of the series Full House...

June can be cold one day and hot the next, but you'll always want to have a jacket or a warm wool sweater. My clients stay at the Westin and they stay in very expensive rooms because they expense their companies (that they own). I'd say a decent room there in the Summer would run you around US $500/night to $700/night easily. US Presidents tend to stay there and high power CEO's.

The Four Seasons is also very nice and very centrally located. If I were you, I'd stay at the Westin -- larger and you'll get to see lots of beautiful ladies (mostly tourists).

I once smoke a very expensive Cuban cigar at the Union Square (across from the Westin) on a very warm summer night; I don't smoke cigarettes but Cuban cigars, I sometimes smoke with my clients to celebrate after I helped them achieve great results. I smoked it so fast because it was so good that I was high for at least half an hour (I literally could not get up) and it was around 8 pm in the Summer and I ended up laying on the concrete floor (still warm) and looking at the sky; it took that long for the high from the cigar to wear off. It would have loved to have met a Montreal SP that night.

I may have to try Lisbon, Portugal (but Montreal is so much easier for me to visit; but if the border guards are on a mission to keep hobbyists out of Montreal then I'll be forced to fly to Lisbon ;)

Have fun, Senior. Sorry, knowing Spanish will be more helpful to you in the States, especially SF and California in general.

I agree. The Mitchell Brothers strip joint is a rip off; a 10 minute fuck will cost you at least $300 to $500. Skip it. Really, fuck your brains out in Montreal or elsewhere in Canada before going to SF. Just enjoy yourself or bring a lady with you, which may end up costing you less money ;)

If you like chicken sandwiches I recommend going to The Bird in the financial district for lunch..really good. Just be sure to get there before noon as the lunch crowd gets crazy there.
