Are they posting for clients or other providers?

Question no 1: Are providers posting gifts, dinner date photos and tips doing that to impress other providers or to encourage clients to tip?

Question no 2: Do you mind seeing the gifts posted on social media? What is a reasonable amount of gift posting?

Personally, I've never given a provider a gift, or followed one online. So post away. Just don't expect me to give you gifts/take you out.

I usually don’t post the gifts that I’m planning on using in my personal life because I don’t want people to recognize them on my personal social media. I will post some here and there mostly to let people know what I like in case they want to surprise me with something.

Instead of signing my emails boldly with “those are the things I like if you want to gift me something hihihi”.

Q1. All your suggested reasons seem likely. I guess another reason could be to stroke the gift-givers ego to encourage them to give similar or larger gifts in the future (but maybe not because not all clients even use Twitter?).

I agree with this. I understand why they do it, but when it’s too much and not done in a classy way, it’s a turn off for me (just my opinion).

@LC18 , Lena, you seem to be a nice person, down to earth and you wouldn’t show off gifts or pics of dinner dates, from what I can see. But I’m totally fine with it when it’s done in a subtle way.

To answer the original question 1, it’s a bit of both.

Q2: I don’t mind seeing it on social media, as long as it’s done in a classy way and not very often (every week, lol!). On the other hand, I’m checking those SM posts less these days, so I always have the option of not looking at them if it becomes a turnoff!

I’ve stopped shortly after my birthday because it was starting to be awkward. I’d much rather post selfies than photos of gifts. Not sure if I’ll start again, those were never the really popular posts anyways.

I guess it would depend on how often you would do it, because I've definitely been motivated to put SPs that constantly post gifts on Twitter on my 'never' list . Which probably isn't the kind of motivation you want.

I thinking posting something that shows a lot of thought went into a date or gift is more interesting than necessarily posting your gifts. Like when you post the picture of the bed with the flower petals. You have a suggestions page on your website for a reason. You are not demanding anything from anyone. Also I think it would be unfair for people to assume that if they spend a lot on you that you have to post it. Plus I think if you build regulars then I could see where your regulars will appreciate your suggestions more. Just my opinion. All the motivation I need are the pictures of yourself. Just my two cents.
