No No. GTs are good in the summer. Make it happen in August on a Saturday night. Make an anonymous poll for August 13 or 20 or 27
See what the members think. A summer GT on the rooftop of the HDLM for example is much better than something in October. October is depressing compared to August.

A mon avis, le mieux que tu puisses faire, c'est de choisir une date toi-meme, et de rester sur ta decision. Il est impossible de plaire a tout le monde, il y auras toujours quelqu'un qui ne pourrais pas venir pour tel ou telle raison. C'est possible, oui, que tu organises un GT et que seulement une petite quantité de gens viennent.
Et so what?...
La meme situation m'est arrivée quand j'avais pris la charge des GT il y a quelques années, cette premiere fois nous étions a peine une douzaine de gens. Ce n'étais pas un négatif du tout, car je me suis assuré toute la soirée que tout les gens présents aient un temps exceptionnel. Ce qui résultat a de l'excellent bouche a oreille et des GT plus ambitieux.
N'écoute pas ceux qui se plaignent que si les GT n'ont que 10 personnes et pas de filles présentes, alors ce n'est qu'un échec. La plupart du temps, ces propos sont dits par des gens qui ne feraient pas mieux eux-meme.
Pour résumer, choisis toi-meme la date et le lieux, ensuite bombarde-nous d'annonces a tous les jours pour nous rappeler quand ca vient, et finalement le soir meme tu joue le role de la charmante hotesse que tu sais si bien faire, menant a une superbe soiree...
A dinner is way to intimate and difficult to organize if many people show up. This is something you do in much smaller groups between close friends, loved ones or acquaintances in your personal life.
Dinners have been done before in cases of mini-Gts. But for a real full-sized GT it wouldn t work.
Whole point of a GT is for people to show up, chit chat and have a few drinks. Girls and agencies get free marketing and guys get a live preview. Most members don't know each other at all. It's why having a get together where you are free to arrive or leave at any given time is ideal.
October would be PERFECT!..... but whatever you decide, i will try to come if you have it this month, but October for sure.
If it's the same night i'm thinking about, oh hell yeah, i sure had an exceptional time at the end of the party!
(by the way, Shijak's advice is a good one....you can't please everyone & there will always be people that can't attend for whatever reason, etc)
I can't see a GT on the rooftop happening. Have you ever been there during the summer? Unless it's a crappy day outside, it's a zoo at night, especially from Thurs-Saturday. There are long lineups at the elevator & there won't be much room on the rooftop if there's a good gathering for the GT. Plus, it won't be as discreet up there as it would be in the piano bar.
However, i'm not the one organizing the event, so it's up to the magnificently attractive 'Eva'.
Look Doc. Like you said. It will depend on the size of the gathering. Worse come to worse or if it is rainy it will be in the downstairs lounge of the HDLM like many other GTs. It's discreet, mixed crowd of all ages and conveniently located. Party people can even go clubbing at Thursday's or somewhere else on Crescent if they so choose to do so.

On my recent stay at the montagne although you do not need a key to access the elevators i had to go down to the lobby twice to meet an sp so she would not be in a long, long, lineup to get on the elevator and up to my room. With a room key you can bypass the line up. Long waits for the elevator can be a real problem at the montagne in the summer time if you are not staying there. To have a gt up on the roof doesn't make a lot of sense in my opinion but it makes no difference to me as i won't be there but just pointing out the obvious.
I was at the HDLM rooftop bar last Saturday afternoon and there was a lineup for the elevator. There's not much chance of having enough room on a Saturday night up there for a GT. Don't forget that even a quiet GT can have about 15-20 people there and a busy one can have upwards of 40. Now when talking about dates, you can pretty much forget the 20th because that's the weekend of the NASCAR race in Mtl. That leaves the 13th or 27th for a nice summer GT where the lovely ladies can dress light and sexy. And if no one shows up, we can always check out the action on Crescent. Having a GT in Oct would still be fun but not quite the same.
I expect you to also be dressed light and sexy, tech. Anyway, I'll be waring a very light g-string bathing suite. Protagoras, you'll have competition this time.
Sorry to deceive you Gugu, but lately I have underwent a radical apostasy: I've changed my Brazilian sunga for a coarse homsepun.

Well if some MERB advertisers are reading this thread such as agencies and independents. They should take advantage of such a great marketing opportunity and showcase some of their talent to let them meet potential clients. This is not a private party, it's a GT that is open to all. In the past, many agencies and independents would show up for at least for an hour or 2.
Much more effective than websites and cynical clients officially get to see that the girls they see on the pics are the real deal and not fake.
So please vote and make this thing big so we can have a real "INDUSTRY" party.
