Did Bell charge you an activation fee? The only reason to deactivate your phone would be so they can spring a charge on you to reactivate it. The sneaky fuckers! Because as CCF mentioned, there was something about an activation fee in our SIM card literature and as I understand it, because we were not buying a phone, the charge did not apply. We just bought prepaid minutes, but we could not use them.

Bell sucks!

That goes beyond the pale! They deactivate your dinosaur phone, which they never told you they would do, and then charge you a fee to reactivate a dated phone so you can continue to use it? None of the cell providers in the USA would ever dare to do this. We have extreme competition between the cellular providers, and they are offering free Iphones to stay with their service, while in Canada you have to pay an activation fee to use Bell's old, sorry ass, outdated phone. This is totally wrong!

In my case, I still have the Rogers SIM card that CCF and I bought. I am going to have AT&T unlock my current phone and use it as my travel phone, and then accept AT&T's offer for a free new phone. I will need to buy more minutes from Rogers next time I am in Canada, but no new phone.

I will never have anything to do with Bell again! They are rip off artists!

Also keep in mind that from what i've read on TERB (and elsewhere), they absolute hate Rogers & barely have a good word to say about them. So just because Bell 'sucks', as some might say here, it doesn't mean that Rogers doesn't 'suck' also. To different degrees from one another, they quite possibly both 'suck'.

The 'hole' cell phone industry s*ck anyway. You constantly have to harass them to give you the 'next' deal that the new customer will get. I've had all of them but Koodo; and they all behave the same way.
Unless you threat them to go for another carrier their customer and tech service will let you down and you will get screwed.

My best friend who has one of the 'really most' important job at Rogers (coast to coast) even gets the same treatement from his own co. with the cell they give him (without having to pay for it).
I've got relatives in the states that get all kinds of trouble of their own no matter which co.

So depending on ur problem, you can always find better stuff somewhere else.
Just say that you're with so and so carrier and ils vont se fendre en quatre to give you a better deal.

Here's an article (comme Doc les aimes) :
