I read a book by David Mamet the famous Hollywood producer/writer/director. He explained why so many Hollywood types have life coaches. Because wealthy/rich people want to show off how rich they are by living a life of leisure. Mamet explained that you can only do nothing 24 hours a day so they employ people to do nothing for them. That is why they have a Life Coach. read Mamet's Why I am no longer a Brain Dead Liberal. I am paraphrasing but he says it way more eloquently in the book.

I found the passage from Mamet's The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of the American Culture.:

So we see the proliferation, in the Liberal communities , of counselors, advisors, life coaches, consultants, feng shui experts….energy therapist, past-lives counselor, and those occupations just north of candle maker.

Now we see the liberal young not flocking but stampeding into film schools. The movie industry is bust and television has gone to the dogs (reality programming)….There are, in short, no jobs at the end of this exhaustive four-year course of watching movies.
There is of course protection. The film school student is protected by his community in his election not to work.
