Bill in Vermont would decriminalize prostitution

To get Montreal quality, you have to pay a lot of money for a high-end escort and give her screening/reference information. Part of that reason is so she will be convinced you are not a cop, and part of that reason is for her safety. This new Vermont law will not protect here safety. She still needs screening and reference information for that.

Will the price go down? Maybe if the “legality” causes women to enter the industry since she will no longer be as concerned about arrest. That is certainly a wildcard.

Good points, this is another aspect to consider:

The stigma of sex work is lessening, and if that happens, the screening burdens should reduce.

Given how the younger generations interact with technology (and the bulk of the desirable SWs will definitely be younger), I can see a business model of OnlyFans models using actual sex to boost their followings.

The law is a feminist and sexist one. The law infantiles sex workers and labels the clients as the predator. Having that I do not think prices will drop much even if prostitution were legalized however it would make it more hospitable to clients and SWs. The thing that would make prices drop if many escort agencies popped up who are able to provide lower pricing. Americans in general are more generous then Quebecors. Finally to conclude Americans are for the most part are prudes. Legalized prostitution is a long way for Americans.

The problem is with politicians solution to socioeconomic problems is always prohibition. Human trafficking and the prostitution of minors is a real problem but the politicians handle it all in the wrong way. I notice how everything is politicized much in the same way covid has turned into about politics. As for Canada cannot compare to the US since Canadian culture is fundementally different to American culture. Canada is more similar to European culture. We follow many of the things of the UK and Quebec of France.

You will be suprised at how widespread the issue is. The various SWs that were adults early 20s I had arrangements with, many told me that they started out at the age of 16/17 some even 15. So young. For sure there was a thug involved in getting these girls involved in sex work. Many sex workers got into this as minors. A girl that you meet will not openly admit to being a minor. How much do you really know about these girls? They all give you a fake name with a phone app number. How can you be so sure in your judgement? This is a generalization but this is to show that the issue is widespread. I do agree with your take on left-wing feminists.

It's not clear to me how a legal prostitution model would work in Vermont outside of Burlington. Have any of you guys actually been in Vermont? Outside of Burlington, it's a very rural, agrarian, sparsely populated state. Vermonters like their pick up trucks, guns, snowmobiles and maple syrup, but outside of Burlington the population distribution would make any legalized prostitution marginally profitable unless they link up with the ski resorts, which is where the bodies are in the winter.

I think that there would be a lot of outsiders offering services if Vermont legalized sex for sale.

And where is the population and money for those services? You can't squeeze money out of rocks. Makes no sense unless there were brothels at the ski resorts where outsiders actually go. Burlington is a very cool little city and holds potential and the University of Vermont is there, but the rest of the state is a black hole.
