I can agree with the latter but differ on the former.Bute doesn't have to take part in any tournament. His big money fight is a rematch against Andrade, not some Showtime tournament.
Sure Bute has a "big" money fight coming up in Andrade and second in a potential rubber match, but then what? Who else does he got when the rest of the elite competition is tied up in the Super 6? The tourney guarantees each fighter 3 big fights in the next 18 months, something Bute doesn't have. Plus the exposure to other markets would only help his pay-days on future fights. Seems pretty clear to me he is more profitable in the tournament than not.
