Hello,

I am looking to travel to Montréal by bus. The bus stop at berri uqam bus station. Where can we find taxi at the bus station. I called at the bus company. They said there is a Taxi stand inside the bus station. Is it true?

What are of Montreal do you want to go to as berri uqam is also the main hub for the metro and can bring you to just about everywhere? There is a lot of ongoing construction with street closures in the downtown area too.

I watched the latest news and learned about which countries were opening their borders to tourists. I was planning to go on a bit of a road trip but to the countries of Europe. I always liked the vibe of these aesthetic cities and mountains that beckon the imagination of everyone who loves to travel. Many countries are open now but on the condition that tourists have the vaccine. Without this, many countries are forbidden to enter. Covid has made it very difficult, and I personally do not like it. I love to travel, so I will continue to monitor the state of the world.

Uber is a good option...and even Eva.coop (which is cheaper than Uber - but only good in the central part of the island)
But if you're going to be staying in the downtown area... the metro is quite effective.

Just step out of the bus station and walk along any big street, you are downtown. Taxis are everywhere. You will probably catch one on the street within 5 minutes.

Uber works very well in Montreal. Much better than it was before the pandemic.

That is not my experience.

It is a lot slower than before the pandemic. Before pandemic, I could get an Uber anywhere downtown within 3-4 minutes 100% of the time.

I have been taking Uber almost everyday in the past 6 weeks in Montreal and it takes 5-10 minutes for an Uber to come. Sometimes, 10%-15% of the time, it even takes 15-20 minutes. Some drivers even cancel because they have to drive 15 minutes just to pick me up. I have been late to a lot of appointments because of this.

You make a valid point. My experience before the pandemic was much worse than that. But, I agree that the current service still does suck. Especially in the XO outcall area, 20 plus minutes wait isn't unusual. But, when I'm in the heart of downtown there's not much issue with waiting around. At least it wasn't for me.
