Yep, such a burden on medical system! Then go people who smoke, then who drink in access. A bit later people who don’t exercise and are obese and then guess who, people with risky social behaviour seeing a lot of prostitutes ;)

The difference is those people don't cause everybody to stay home and close the business. Actually, those people can't be serve right now by the public health because there is too many unvacc people with covid receiving urgent health care! ;)

You would be surprised how much peoples actually did it for these reasons. I know many peoples who ultimately took it either for a social life, travel or for their job when they felt they had no choice anymore. Then you have all the peoples who just took it right away hoping that their "part of the statistic" would help "shut them up" with Covid (remember, at first 75% was supose to be the magic number).

Did 90% got vaccinated? YES

But how many of that 90 did it willingly? The % drop. How many truly deeply wanted it? As in not just "yeah whatever, ill take it if it can help ending this hysteria"... Drop even further.

I believe when that magic number of 75% came out it, was regarding the vaccines versus the pre Delta variant which it was built for, and now we are dealing with another variant and which spreads more readily too.

I had such high hopes that by summer 2022, things will return to normal in Montreal, and there will be lots of new talent.
It *should* be alot better during the summer, though (as previous summers have shown).

But won't be gone completely for at least a couple of years, most likely.

I won't quote everyone as it would be too long and complicated so ill use names..

JustPhil : So basically we have to accept we have to work for our health care system instead of the health care system working for us? The issue was there for years, decades maybe even. Legault himself was health minister... Go google it, you will see there was years the system was on the verge of collapse during the peak of the flu season... Yet it took Covid to finally give them the red signs? As for suspending my hobbying, i did said that for January, wich i had planned to meet someone, i will post-pone it. Its a mix of reasons. First one of course is because the risk is greater at this time, better wait til it decrease during spring, but also there is a monetary aspect to it. I COULD afford it, but not doing it will make things easier so for now i have no problem post-poning it. But be assure i am doing it FOR ME, and its MY decision, not Legault, not for others, and i always based my decisions including not getting vaccinated on MY health and risks vs rewards.

Gallantca : We be seeing peoples double vaccinated get infected left and right and some still taking beds. Ultimately a 10% is not big enough to make that drastic of a decison if the system is in good health... pun intended

Charmer : Last movie i saw in theatre was Free Guy, so its been since then. I missed Shang Chi, Ghostbusters, Venom 2, Resident Evil, Spider-Man, Halloween Kills (but saw at home) and i think thats about it. Since then i saw Shang Chi and Venom. Does it sucks a bit missing them in theatre? Yeah sure, but its THAT bad. I barely ever got to bars or restaurants beside take outs. The reality is i didn't missed much actually since the segregation beside the movies. I still see friends as like before, i still do my outside exercise too etc. I told you already that even if i would had been vaccinated i would had NOT comply with an autoritarian concept of showing papers for mundane life stuff. Its WRONG ! So why am i laughing? Cause now you guys are in the same situation as i am ;) And im still unvaccinated. Its not like you can remove the vaccine now lol. And no i don't live in a basement by the way.

Eagerbeaver : Yeah im behind on a lot of stuff. Im catching up on Flash, Black Lightning, i just started Witcher season 2, i have a huge list of stuff to watch lol

sene5hos : Not anymore than i used to do before. My friends are not covanxious and don't care. I never been a bar guy like i said above, more the type to meet someone home and game or watch stuff. Or go do something outside.

Biggie Smalls : See above on why its funny

Gallantca (2) : Hey im not happy to know business are hurting, but the more they hurt, maybe the more peoples will wake up and stop "dormir au gaz" and join the movement. Peoples of Quebec and Canada need to rise, say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !

Flyingby : Wouldn't change a thing for me, i would find others who don't or simply stop seeing SPs. But in reality even if some agencies would do this, there would always be others who wouldn't, its the same concept of why agencies don't raise their rates to 500$/h, because there would be others who would charge less and get all the business. Lots of clients are not willing to disclose personal infos remember? Intensive Screening like in the US (showing ID, call to workplace etc) is not a standard here, so you think most Johns would be ok to disclose their names and all along their vaccine passeport?

Gazoo64 : See above. Im not enjoying the situation itself, im enjoying the irony of it... Im picking on Legault because he pretty much do the same crap everytime thinking this time it will be different. He basically put a bandaith on a leaking pipe and wonder why at some point it start to leak again. He need to repair the pipe... At least other places like Florida, Sweden and others had a relatively normal summer and all. My issue with Legault is he STILL keep restrictions, mask etc during the low covid season, and cases rise anyway during the high season and then he act surprise... and goes on mega lockdown mode instead of having prepared. I think Duhaime would be much better dealing with this. Thats why im picking on Legault.

MrProfileteroles : I would loose the card then. I tell you, at this point NOTHING will make me take something without my full consent. I said it before, when i chose to not take the vaccine it was purely medical, i felt i didn't needed it at that time but was willing to reconsider late if needed. Now its as much an act of defiance against autoritarian governement forcing something on peoples and using shady stuff that appear way too close to a China social credit system.

Kabukicho : Maybe, but at some point we need to establish things and keep words. You can't change the rules that many times as times pass. They told to peoples take the vaccine, its liberty, and now we going back into lockdown... with a freaking 90% vaccine rate... Like you joking me? If we get stuck in an endless loop like that, peoples will loose faith. Its like your parents telling you if you get 80% at your exam we gonna do (insert your favorite activity as a kid) but then you come back with 81% and they tell you that in the end its not enough, its actually 85% now so better go harder next exam. And next time same thing but its 90% now and it keep going til they tell you actually MAYBE if you get 100% we will do it, but not sure. The kid at this point will just screw this and stop trying...

Families having to make brutal decisions on who they see and can't see. The list goes on.
Depend if they are covanxious or not. Lots of peoples already said that they will see their familly no matter what. If they are 11 it will be 11, if its 17 it will be 17 etc. They won't remove some peoples because Legault put a magic number.

In the last 30 days, MORE THAN 50% of people admitted to hospital have been the non vaccinated.

Less than 10% of the population is causing over 50% of the hardship.

You think Lego is going to back off on passports ? The master of deflection is going to use this stat ad nauseam.

No idea if he will eventually but ill be patient as i need to be. Like i said yeah its annoying to not watch movies in theatre and have to wait, but its not life ending either. The rest i don't care "that much". Ill keep being against this no matter what.

Cinemas will be all circling the toilets like a big turd about to be flushed. Meanwhile Netflix is going to cash in. Their profits are going to EXPLODE in the next few months as people who are forced to be couch potatoes will potato up and start binging what they haven't caught up on yet. It's going to be like 2020 all over again. This is going to be the Winter of Netflix. I hope they speed up some of the new release dates.

HM, what you're alluding to is 'raising the bar' and I get that. It becomes to challenging possibly for some kids to compete w/ tall orders of exam success.

The difference is here we are talking about a evolving covid virus. think big picture. the earth could not eradicate (get to say 75%) together at the SAME TIME.... so these variants developed outside of canada.... and since the world is a smaller place these days..... it penetrated the fairly well vaxxed north america (canada way better than usa).

again, covid, the earlier versions... got to fester in basically in 3rd world countries... basically wherever they did not reach anywhere near 75% I am sure...even 50% I'd guess... and it bit us in the ass now because our mRNA vaccines were not possibly engineered to combat these new variants (obviously) as well... we can hope to luck out if they do... hence they do say the booster seems to do the trick. Need a couple more weeks to further verify. But it will keep you from being deathly ill/hospitalization, so it seems in mostly all cases.

I see nothing wrong with scientists adapting their word based on changing conditions for their goal. If they have data to justify it/back it up, that's only fair.

You are Jeff Bezos running blue origin... don't they cancel/postpone a flight to the edge of space when weather conditions change? Would you just go, oh heck you cancelled too many times I give up, just take off into the gusty winds nothing is gonna happen.

Are ski resorts still open? If memory serves, they didn't close them down last winter. So maybe it might be a good idea to buy a season pass to keep busy during winter.

So far, they are. They might close tomorrow though, who knows. I can live without bars or cinemas and i'm quite a stay-at-home kind of guy, but hitting the slopes is pretty much my passion so i wish i can still do that. Bonus, it's good for your physical and mental health.

They won’t close the slopes. They backtracked on their decision and are now allowing competitive skiing to continue. As long as you are vaccinated. You can ski. We are in the qualifiers for the olympics. They won’t close skiing

Somewhere
@Halloween Mike What I find most not-funny is people being deadly afraid of 0.3ml of vaccine diluted into 1.8 ml of salty water at 0.9% (Pfizer adult dose) 2-3 times in their life will eat McDo weekly or apply cyclopentasiloxane, stearyl alcohol, mineral oil, dimethicone, talc, petrolatum, hydrogenated castor oil, PPG-14 butyl ether, fragrance, behenyl alcohol (Old Spice Pure Sport Anti-perspirant) twice a day on their skin without a second tought ....

This morning, December 21, we have 5,043 new cases.

Halloween Mike doesn't leave your home because there is a chance that you will catch it since you are not vaccinated, and that you have co-morbidities, and especially don't tell me that you are in good physical condition.
