Gentlemen, I have had some recent discussions with some of my monger acquaintances abroad about measures taken to ensure safety of their goods and of their person, and one of my Vancouver friends told me he does something that surprised me. I don't think I've ever had a real discussion about it except in vague terms with Montreal people.

So guys, what steps do you take to protect yourselves from predatory SPs, MPs or online providers? I don't want throw mine in yet because I don't want to salt the well, as it were, but I will add them in due course. I'm very curious as to the differences in processes and perceptions.

What was shared with you from your Vancouver friend?
Was like personal belongings stolen? People following him?

When I used to only seek new unknowns... I would:

carry a fake wallet with a few worthless cards and worthless foreign currency + fake keys
concealed the real cash, only carry the exact amount needed.
clip my car fob on my kubatan keychain.
always use a burner phone.
notify a close friend of mine (who also engages in this lifestyle)
remove watch and jewelry.
not park within visibility of the location but close enough and with a verified escape route - always parked in a way to hide the licence plate as much as possible.

Outcall, never ever allowed an unknown SP into my home (unless she was reputable), never left out anything identifiable in plain sight other than my fake wallet.

might seem paranoid, but I had quite a few bad/risky encounters, but lost the wallet and keys once and never got into a real altercation.

I used to make sure I never left my wallet or phone out of sight. Didn’t carry too much cash and only left one credit card in my wallet.
Today with the ladies I see there is no need for that, they are friends I have known them for years, they know where I live, I know where they live we trust each other I don’t really take any kind of precautions.

I have never had any kind of issues with any of the ladies I have seen, but all of them were Merb advertising Indy’s, I doubt they would want to screw up their reputation and do something stupid.

I do carry a fake wallet on vacations to places like Barcelona and most unknown cities as pickpockets are always on the prowl for tourists but not with the SP I see.
I have had money stolen out of my pocket ( I put the change there after buying entrance tickets, the equivalent of $50 US not the end of the world) once in the forbidden city in China, an old beggar woman distracted me while an accomplice lifted it from my pocket my wallet was safely hidden and I am not sure if I lost it or it was stolen at a soccer tournament in Laval.
Since that China incident I usually have a fake wallet in my back pocket and hide the real one.
Ironically so far I have never had the fake one stolen

I don't do anything either with the women I see but the first 2 times I did keep my wallet/keys/everything in the car and locked it with my phone.
