Interesting article on the life of a hotel maid.

She talks about time-saving techniques (less work for same effect) and some of the horror stories like the woman who crapped all over the sheets and the guy who stayed in the room and watched her work.

Too bad the hot hotel maid in the picture is fake.

Isn't this true of any job though? You start out and do everything by the book, but as time passes you learn all tricks and start cutting corners to gain the same recognition for less work?

That show with Billie Piper...'secret diaries of an escort' or something like that, had a similar thing in the first episode. She booked for an all night appointment, and she said that by getting her client to come early in the evening, she got his endorphins going and made him less demanding for the rest of night. Even gave her enough time to moonlight with another John she picked up in the bar!

The part about minimum wage definetly doesn't apply to maids in most major hotels in Montréal: they are unionized. Some make over $16/hr, none are at minimal wage.

Always thought the maids at the Omni were MILFy.

Omni is the last hotel who struck a deal with it's union 2 years ago. I can say if the maids aren't MILFy, they are at least VERY noisy! I was working in the office building right besides the Omni at the time and sometimes, we couldn't ear ourself talking, on the 6th floor!

Did they ever settle the strike that was affecting hotels like the Queen E last summer and fall?

Slightly off-topic: There was, at least as of two years ago, a desk clerk at HDLM who I thought was incredibly hot. Raven-haired. I would get warmed up for an SP session by sitting in the lobby sneaking peeks at her. I wish I'd had the nerve to ask HER upstairs....
