Well, somebody has to say it...

Montreal has a lot going for it as far as the sp community is concerned. The women are all fantastic-looking. From the American perspective, it's all still really ridiculously inexpensive, especially with the current exchange rate. Now, I don't want Americans upping the price any more than anyone else does. Part of the attraction to Montreal is that it's so relatively inexpensive. But still, I hear that Chloe is upping her rate to $300/hr and I do a quick exchange in my mind ($232.60 USD) and I think, meh! $300/hr (or about $387 CAD) is about as cheap as you're going to get it here. It might be a case of killing the goose that laid the golden egg if too many Americans show up in Quebec. Just keep in mind that the value of the US dollar may be fleeting. It wasn't so long ago that the Canadian dollar was worth more...

BTW, the lady I spend most of my time with is 5' 1 1/2 ", though she lists her height as 5' 0". Petite women have more energy!

The Americans did not cause a few ladies to significantly increase their prices. And if all the Montreal escorts do the same, you will see fewer Americans, not more.

Well, I certainly agree with the second part. To what do you attribute the general increase in prices over the last year or two, then? Simple supply and demand? If I remember correctly, the prices started going up before the exchange rate became favorable to Americans, so I think you're right on that one.

I was going to ask a question on that point before I saw your post. I thought prices had been rising when the exchange rate was near par for a few years. Americans also have travel and hotel expenses not all Canadians deal with, add $100-$150 to the escort rate a night for American expenses. Means the present exchange rate is helping Americans catch up not have a big advantage.

With millions of Canadians who can call as they wish Id say they control rates much more than Americans who need time off to go north.

Someone should make a poll asking the escorts do you see more Canadians, more Americans, roughly the same of each.

I think people are grasping for reasons in this thread. Zoe gets great reviews and raises rates. Chloe gets great reviews and will raise rates. If not knew how great they were wouldn't it be tough for them to raise rates? They're great. We know it. They know it. What did you expect.

When i first heard this, i was disappointed since i've yet to meet her in an intimate scenario. I kind of wished she'd wait a few more weeks before she increased them. However, i don't blame her. She's always fully booked when she's working and the moment that i saw they were asking $300 for Shana Lane, it was just a matter of time before a superstar such as Chloe (who also helps with the bookings) would also want her share of the pie. I'd do the same thing if i were her. In other words, she was probably asking herself "why is Shana getting $300 and i can't when i'm always fully booked and was the GFE of the year last year?"

I'm betting that she'll probably be as busy as she is now. If not, she's always free to lower her rates again. But i have a feeling it won't happen. She's a very pretty girl who offers a very good service. When you have both of those things working for you, the rates usually increase.

This is certainly a case of some hobbyists feeling a sense of betrayal and/or resentment towards Zoe and other SP's for raising their rates . First and foremost, it is not to be taken personally. It is surely not Zoe's intention to exclude certain people by raising her rates. I have had the amazing privilege of seeing her on two occasions. She is a very intelligent, thoughtful, considerate, generous, well-spoken woman. All this and she provides an amazing service as well. She had mentioned to me that she felt uneasy about raising her rates. How some hobbyists were giving her a hard time regarding the long wait time for a rdv, others offering huge premiums to be put to the front of the line. So the theory was if she raised her rates, it would make her more accessible...not the case!! Demand did not go down. Now as she raises her rates to yet another level, I suspect the same will hold true.

So why is it that demand is not affected by higher rates? Elementary my dear Watson!!! Zoe is an exceptional person, offering an exceptional service. How can you criticize someone for asking for more when they are clearly deserving of it. Athletes are rewarded based on performance and we don't even blink an eye. How much do we pay for tickets to see the Canadiens play? If I were to compare spending time with Zoe or a night out at the Bell centre...cost about the same...much more enjoyable with ZOE...no question...lol

Regrettably, as she now moves to another price point, I will be unable to see her. Do I now feel any animosity towards her? Absolutely not. Anyone who has met her knows how "not greedy" a person she is. Her plan is well thought out. I applaud her for her success. She deserves it.

In agency it is a different story then Indie .Its not the clients reaction that is to fear there is always a good story to make them swallow the price hike .

On the other hand the
Girls in agency have a tendency to compare with the other girls of the agency ,looks wise service wise etc....
It does sometimes create havoc unless there is a great difference between the ladies if there is not. justification becomes difficult. to convince the others that they are worth 1/3 or half less .

A price is only delusional if it's made without any consideration of supply and demand. I've thought a lot about my prices and gradually raised them over the months so that I could judge how much business I'd have at different price levels. What I've found is that I could actually charge more than $350/hr and still be fully booked. Sounds a bit ludicrous, I know, but that's because many Montrealers severely underestimate the amount of demand in the current market - especially the demand from traveling Americans and the very favorable USD/CAD exchange rate.

And the reason why my schedule says I'm still booked solid despite my price increase is because I scheduled for October and November back in the summer at my lower price. Since I went up to $350/hr I noticed a drop in demand, but that won't show in my schedule until December.

I'm a firm believer that the market will push prices to be where they should be. If a girl wants to charge $300/hr with only average service, low demand will force her to go back down to $250/hr. If a price stays high, that's a good indication that that's where it should be.

Zoe - I like the way you think. Let the market work. Sell out and then sell up is what I always say. If you can get then do so because it won't last forever. In the USA a famous football coach joked that the NFL stands for Not For Long. I believe it is the same in escorting. You make the money you can and you pay yourself first (Hungry's rule #1) by investing in a ROTH or 401K or whatever you call it up there. If you are gouging then the market will quickly tell you. That is when you get to see Adam Smith's Invisible Hand in action. Remember guys, we haven't gone communist just yet. The girls should charge the fee that is dictated by supply in demand. They are providing a service that is considered a luxury.

For me, the next visit I will dust off Hungry's list and try to stay in the 200$ range. I would consider opening up the wallet a little more to try a Zoe (I've done Chloe and she was worth every stinking penny). However, I am apt to try to find the next Christina or Brittany/Liz, Caroline etc. and I will have enough money to see another girl the next day. Just like the golf Pro Lee Travino says in his Top Flight Commercail. Play Top Flight and afford to play more golf. The same applies here.
