I always bring one or two bottles of wine (average of 30 to 40$ the bottle, but sometime a lot more)

I ounce had in the same night, with my favorate of the moment, a bottle of Château Lafite 1996, a bottle of Grands Échézeaux from Domaine de la Romanée Conti 1996, a bottle of Chateau Yquem 1989 and a half-bottle of Champagne Krug.

The lucky girl was Naomie of MSC and the occasion was for my 50th birthday. (et si j'avais eu en ma possession un Lafite 1961 ce soir la, c'est certain que je l'aurais ouvert)

Also with Marilyn Minx I had sessions with a lot of nice bottles. She know a lot about wine as she used to work few years ago in a SAQ store.

My next encounter is schedule for this friday and I choose to bring a bottle of Champagne for the occasion.

A real connaisseur ,glad to hear from you on this topic ;)

Cheers

I sometimes do (especially if its an appt more than an hour). Usually it's ~$20-$30 for me. Great for breaking the ice with someone.

I bring a bottle of white and red and ask them to choose, I :thumb::thumb: bring a 10-12 piece sushi dish from sushi shop and something magical happens when they start nibbling on the ginger strips

ummm, yes, always have wine or better, but what is considered a cheap bottle, when you buy it at a dep or at loblaws or is there an amount you would classify it by? Is 20$ cheap or average? I have spent all different amounts on bottles, sometimes a bottle at 20$ tastes better then a 30$ bottle, what is considered cheap?

I'm far from being a sommelier, but I don't think price necessarily determines how good the wine is. I just base it on what I've enjoyed drinking in the past, read about or if someone has recommended it.
Sometimes my decision will be based solely on how nice the bottle or label looks
