Bouchard is not yet ready for prime time. I felt she would lose this match as Sharapova came in highly pumped up to beat the "new Sharapova". Bouchard lost 8 of the last 10 games against a much older player. She may need to work on her conditioning a bit.
Genie's body language looked off towards the end of the match and you coud just tell she is not quite there yet as far as being a grand slam champ. Dont get me wrong, her body looks incredible but you get my drift. She is well on her way tho and it is only a matter of time before she is on top of the tennis world.

From what i gathered at the time, he was told of this from members of the media who regularly cover tennis, including locally.
I have no doubt she has a very bright tennis future. What i especially like is the fact that she's become very muscular & we all know how important muscles are in sports, especially a grueling & demanding sport such as tennis where power (and precision) is a must for a tennis elite. Sharapova's power today was the deciding factor. In a few years, Genie will have increased her already considerable muscle mass & will be at the top of the game.
I beg to differ. She's been in two consecutive Grand Slam semi-finals & even analyst Chris Evert mentionned that in her mind, today's match was the 'real' final. She went on to say that she'd be surprised if Sharapova didn't wind up winning the championship. I got the impression from her that Bouchard would have beat any of the two other women in the other semi-final and that in her mind, Bouchard is already a top 10 player on the circuit.
Bouchard simply faced a slightly better & more experienced opponent, who will likely go on to win her 2nd French Open. This is Sharapova's third consecutive French Open final. The statuesque blond beauty now loves playing on clay, something she hated early in her career.
p.s. Nick Saviano has been her coach since she was 12. This year, they've argued & fought a lot, according to rumours. I'm beginning to wonder how much longer this marriage will last.
You're right Doc, Sha is powerful, but not that muscular. What you gain in muscle, you lose a bit in precision.
Genie looked so innocent, cute, fresh and nice compared to Sha... She won't win RG this year, but will steal some contracts to Sharapova who is not as cute as she was. A french saying says that when a woman get older, you can see the quality of her soul on her face...

McEnroe was classic. More tennis players need to play with his fire and guts. Since McEnroe played nobody was really close to him as far as intensity and talent in one package. He was 160 pounds and nobody could touch his serve in his prime, due to a combination of speed, placement and deception of delivery.

No you can't compare John with Serena, he was never totally serious, he was an incredible movie actor.. Serena is just full of contempt.
I do agree that men's tennis of the 70's & 80's had more charismatic players. Connors, Agassi, McEnroe, Nastase, Becker, etc. They were fun to watch!! And of course, my favorite tennis player of all time, the 'Iceman'....the great Bjorn Borg. Actually, Borg had zero charisma. But was he ever great to watch & the contrast of his quiet personality with some of the other 'stars' made it even more fun to watch. Maybe that's why i never cheered for Ivan Lendl.....found him too boring.
On another note, i'm currently watching highlights of the Bouchard/Sharapova match & realize how much i'd like to stick my face in Sharapova's beautiful ass right now!

True. But Sharapova is gorgeous, while Serena is very masculine & not that attractive. Sharapova is a marketing agent's dream. She's a great player, she's gorgeous, intelligent, charismatic, fluent in more than one language.....and she's the top femaile money-earner on the planet. She's a dream!!!!! (And i'd still like to shove my face up her ass!)
p.s. I predict another French Open championship for the great Russian beauty today.
