I think it is the right idea to talk and be completely honest with yourself. There is no point in suffering in silence nor is there being in denial. I applaud your honesty and sincerity and wish for you the best.

The only advice I really have is when you are looking for advice about the hobby - merb is a good place to look for the answers but if you are asking yourself the meaning of life - I do not think that this is the forum to find an answer.

I disagree. I think the members here are just as qualified to discuss the meaning of life as those on any other forums. The vast majority of the people I have met through merb are good, decent people - some volunteers, humanitarians, etc. Just reading the majority of replies in this thread shows me that the members here are considerate and caring people, not just toward Halloween Mike, but toward society in general.

Thank You. We should have a drink next time i come in town, if the timing fits.

And yes i do think the members of this board can help as much as any other place, if not more. I made more friends trough this board than i did any other in my whole online "experience".

In any case, i encourage you guys to keep dealing with Jimmy, he is providing an excellent customer service, the girls at WT are really hot(trust me, i know... lol) and i wish him the best in his future.

It's too easy to get caught up in the rat race of large cities, so I agree with Chris, to take a step back. IMHO the happiest people , are those, that can find beauty and fullfillment in the simple things of life. Getting all caught up in materialism , and societies ideal of success, will only frustrate you in the long run.

If you gat a chance ,check out the video on You Tube, Stand by Me/ Playing for Change. It's a bunch of poor downtrodden street musicians, from around the world, coming together to make an amazing recording.

I don't want to start some kind of Lounge War but I hear what Mitsou is saying and I agree with her. That doesn't imply anything bad about the people on here (especially since I'm one of them). I don't even want to explain myself or everyone will get worked up.

Don't twist my words.

It's simple. You want answers about sex and escorts. Merb is a good site.
You want answers about life, very deep personal questions etc - I think family and friends are better sounding boards for that than merb.

There's no reason he can't do both. And btw, there are all sorts of people on this board (doctors, lawyers, bus drivers, etc). So everybody has his own unique viewpoint on things. I'm sure there are plenty of us that know more about life than just SPs....lol. Plus sometimes its good to get an opinion from someone totally out of a person's regular social circle.

Life is indeed a grand MYSTERY.

Often times the answers to our deepest questions lie within us.
All we need to do is change our perception(point of view) and voila everything is different.

May I suggest you watch the following movies.

Plus sometimes its good to get an opinion from someone totally out of a person's regular social circle.

Yes, sometimes complete strangers will talk more truthfully and honestly about their life experience. Because you are not involved with those persons, you feel more free to talk frankly. I usually feel more comfortable talking about personal feelings to a lovely escort than to people I see everyday.

Also we're all very different, but if there's one thing we all have in common, it's life. We all know some things about it that can be useful to someone, so probe as many people as you can.

Of course, people close to you know you better and may be more useful when it comes to specific suggestions.

I too will put a quote:
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.
-Oscar Wilde

HM: Maybe you need to have some hobbies (not necessary the "hobby"), get a girlfriend, set career goals, set educational goals.

I have been feeling the way you do for the last few years (mid-life crisis?). I have spent too much time in school and I don't want to go back. Career-wise, I've hit a ceiling. There is no room for advancement. Hobby-wise, I have been hobbying for a long time, and it doesn't do it for me as it used to. In terms of getting a girlfriend, I don't wanna date anyone my age.

Now, I feel better. I am working hard, cutting expenses and planning for retirement. It seems like a long road. I stayed in school for too long and wasn't making much money. Then, I spent too much money hobbying. Nonetheless, I feel I have a mission now.

Go find your mission, something to keep you going!

I JUST HAPPENED TO FALL ON THIS THREAD……..I SEE AND SHARE ALL THAT WAS BROUGHT FORWARD IN THIS THREAD STARTED BY MIKE.
MY EXPERIENCE IN LIFE WOULD BE TOO LENGHTY TO EXPOSE SO I WILL SIMPLY SUMMARIZE THE TURNING POINTS...
FIRST I LOVED THE INDICATIONS SUGGESTED BY "HUmm64" they ARE true… " THESE FEELING OF SADNESS, EMPTINESS ,UNHAPPINESS,COMPELLED ME TO LOOK OUTSIDE FOR PURPOSE ,ACHIEVEMET SUCCESS ETC. ..EVERYTHING BROUGHT INSTANT JOY AND HAPPINES….BUT WAS SHORT LIVED….DESIRE PUSHED ME ON FOR MORE…YET THE NEGATIVE FEELING REMAINED ACTIVE WITHIN…..TO QUENCH THAT I ESCAPED IN A SERIES OF ADDICTIONS ( DRUGS NOT EXCLUDED THANK GOD.)…..I WAS ON THE WRONG ROAD…EVENTULLY I WAS BROUGHT TO REALIZE THAT TRUE HAPPINESS WAS WITHIN, LOVE, JOY TOO ,AND WITHOUT A CAUSE (DEPENDANCE) MY SEARCH BEGAN….THE QUEST OF SELF KNOWLEDGE , KNOWING MORE AND MORE ABOUT MYSELF AND WHO I AM……BRIEFLY THE KEY IS TO LIVE THE PRESENT MOMENT… OUTSIDE AND "LIVE WITH" THE EMOTINS AND FEELINGS INSIDE .
IN OTHER WORDS ALL NEGATIVE EMOTIONS BECOME A DOORWAY…..THERE IS NO METHOD, NO SYSTEM NO TRYING TO BECOME BETTER,
NO EFFORT…….ALL THAT IS REQUIRED …..IS BE CONSCIOUS OF HOW A BAD FEELING OR NEGATIVE EMOTION EVOLVES….GIVE IT YOUR TOTAL ATTENTION. YOU WILL SEE AND FEEL THAT IT DISSOLVES ….. FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED
(AT THIS POINT YOUR SEARCH ENDS)
SELF OBSERVATION IS AN ONGOING PROCESS WHICH CREATES SPACE REAL HAPPINESS AND LOVE……THAT LOVE WILL OVERFLOW AND HELP OTHERS
YOU WILL NO LONGER FEEL THE NEED TO HELP OTHERS TO FEEL BETTER YOURSELF…….LOL ..LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Now that Halloween Mike has been talked off the ledge, maybe he can do the same for Leandre?

Lol dude i was never on the ledge :p

Got to admit for Leandre writing in cap lock, its hard to read, would be better if if he would write normally but if its one time only...

Leandre mentioned substance abuse in his post and it would not be surprising if he was wasted when he made the post. When you are wasted, caps lock is not something that is even noticed..............it's just a button that got pushed, so what.

Talking from experience EB? :)

To everybody else,

It is bad netiquette to use caps, though I found some substance and great advice in Leandre' s post. Especially when he mentioned that one should watch negative thoughts evolve and not let them take over.

I was tempted to write this reply in red and bold face to give you some material to debate for the next few hours.
