Season 3 of The Bear dropped today on Hulu. If you haven't seen it, excellent show about a restaurant in Chicago and the characters who staff it. Sort of a comedy drama, mostly drama but some funny moments.
I watched the first two episodes last night. The first episode is a rather arty montage of short scenes summarizing the background to Carmen's struggles and anxiety heading into season 3. In episode 2 we see some more head-butting between Carmy and Richie and clashes of ideas between Carmy and the staff. It seems like many of Carmy's ideas are not really workable or doable, and the staff is an early state of rebellion.

The Bear Season 3 Sets Hulu Record for Scripted Series:
Hulu isn’t available in Canada. However most of Hulu’s content can be streamed in Canada on Disney+. It also happens to be my favorite streaming app. So many great movies, series & documentaries on Disney+.

Hulu is available anywhere. All you need is an account, and WiFi. I happen to have both. I can watch it in Rhode Island, New York, Florida, wherever. Hulu doesn't exist in any one place. It exists in Cyberspace.

That being said, some of Hulu's sports programming content is regionalized. If I am traveling in another state, I might not be able to get a UConn basketball game that is being broadcast on FoxSports 2. If I am in Connecticut or New York City, I am getting the UConn game, but if I am in Maine, or New Hampshire, I might get some crappy and uninteresting Pac 12 game. That's one thing that sucks with Hulu. You take your programming package on the road, but not all sports content.

The Bear, however, is on Hulu everywhere. No regionalization. It's an all Hulus everywhere program.

Except in Canada. It’s blocked in Canada. Just like you can’t get Crave in the States. I was in the States a few months ago & couldn’t even log into my Netflix account. Or my Disney+ or Paramount+ accounts. Can’t remember if i tried with my Prime account.

Finally went through it. Was a bit disappointment, given how great season 2 was. There was no real resolution/revelations by the end. But it was still good.

"Napkins" is the best episode this season. Was similar to "Forks" from last season...just not quite as good.

I had a similar reaction to season 3 of the Bear. They teased 3 major developments for season 4, which are (1) a review about to drop from the Chicago Tribune, (2) Sydney contemplating leaving to work at a rival new restaurant, and (3) whether the "vicarious apology" delivered on behalf of Carmy will succeed in repairing his relationship. The acting was very good though throughout the season. Did not like that they devoted an entire episode to birthing a child with heavy emphasis on pain. I didn't understand that episode except as a way to bring back Jamie Lee Curtis who was so great in her cameo in season 2. That episode was a waste of time.

Dark Winds was just released onto Netflix and I watched season 1 this week, which was very good. It's just 6 episodes. It's about tribal police officers in the Navajo Nation who are working on solving several mysterious deaths on the reservation. Well acted and shot on location in Navajo Nation which spans corners of the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.

Dark Matter (2024)
I recently watched this new series on Apple+ and it’s excellent! It’s nine episodes & stars Joel Edgerton & Jennifer Connelly. It’s based on a 2016 sci-fi novel & Edgerton plays a Chicago physicist who’s warped into an alternate version of his life. For lovers of sci-fi series like The Twilight Zone & Black Mirror then you’ll love this one! It was quite popular & very well received by critics & Apple has announced it has been renewed for a second season.

It's been a while since TV shows caught my attention.. I'm looking forward for the third season of The white lotus and the 2nd season of Swarm ... I really like The righteous gemstones and Expats

I really didn't like The bear and Beef that much and I kinda hate Succession

I watched the first episode and stopped midway into the second episode (boring). But if you say it gets better, maybe I'll give it another shot.

I absolutely loved the second season of The White Lotus! I’ve actually seen it several times! I think i saw myself in several of the characters at different stages in my life which is why i loved it so much! This was likely my favorite tv series of the year! I can’t wait for the next season. Will it be filmed in Greece?

The next season is in Thailand I think! I liked the 1st season better but everyone seems to have preferred the 2nd season :)

You’re quite correct. I now remember reading that the next season will be filmed in Thailand. As for season 1 the thing I really liked the most about it is that this is where i discovered Sidney Sweeney, whose boobs…i mean work…i’m a big fan of. I think she was nothing short of great in the movie ‘Reality’. Anyways i think the first season may grow on me over time omce i’ve seen it again. I’ve already forgot pretty much everything about it (other than Sidney) and the next time i see it it’ll probably feel like i’ve seen it for the first time & i’ll probably appreciate it even more. Just like “Murder on the Orient Express” which i’ve just finished watching for the second time. This is such a great & very well made movie & i’ve missed so many key parts & clues the first time i saw it in a movie theater a few years ago. Maybe the fact i already know the twist at the end made it easier for me to notice things i hadn’t noticed previously. I’m also currently reading the graphic novel of the story & it’s ,ade me aware of clues i hadn’t noticed before.

Both on Netflix. The travelers, decent show about time travelers sent back in time to stop catastrophes ( 3 seasons ) and Animal Kingdom ( nothing to do with wildlife ) about a criminal family ( 6 seasons )
