Unsure if this is the best part of the forum to post this in but, knowing there are many Lola fans and those who would just want to help someone in need on Merb, I thought I'd try to raise awareness for a fundraiser being run to help support Lola the Brat's recovery following a violent assault by the hands of a client. This is from the GoFundMe page:

"Lola was viciously attacked by a client, leaving her unable to work. Before this traumatic event, she was already on a break due to health issues, including severe arthritis in her jaw. Without a financial cushion to fall back, she’s now facing immense struggles both mentally, physically, and financially. The assault dislocated her jaw, and unfortunately, insurance in Canada doesn’t cover this injury. Your support can help Lola get the professional help she desperately needs. Please consider contributing to her recovery fund."

Dental work isn’t covered by the universal health care.

Recovery either, if her jaw is dislocated, I assume she won’t be able to work for a while.

I’ve donated because I can only imagine how traumatizing something like this could be and I know she is not going to just jump back to work anytime soon. The bills won’t take a break though.

Jesus this is so fucked up, for anyone who never met Lola, as a SP she really took care of you on another level. But just chilling with her, she is actually one of the most fun kind grounded girls any man could come across.

I remember smoking up a J with her, talking about the most random things and just feeling so at peace with her. I wish her a speedy recovery and whoever did this to her nothing but the worst.

Dental work isn’t covered by the universal health care.

I think it depends on the province as all are different, in Ontario OHIP covers fracture dental repair Quebec may be different.
Also check student dental repair, a friend of mine in the past took her kids to dental schools for students to work on them, they may have something like that available here and it is very cheap.

I am not a SWer (obviously), but I am an astute observer of the news and social trends, including regarding sex work. I believe there is a very high probability that the police will take her case seriously, especially if this happened in Montreal, regardless of her job as sex worker. Violence against women is taken very seriously by law enforcement and the courts, not to mention the general population.

It could but a lot of us avoid going there because of the questions and victim blaming we face. It happens to women that are outside of this industry also. The same reasons women don’t always report r*pes.

You go there and they still ask you what you were wearing and if you said no.

This is so true!! You girls should have even more strict screening method, if clients can't have a minimum of emphasis to realize that you girls but your health and security at risk every time you meet a new client then IMO they don't deserve the right meet with you girls.
