Do you support or object to the idea of having a platform for rating clients?

I know for a fact that agencies do keep tabs on clients.
And I will gladly comply with the screening process of any independent.
I mean, it’s not rocket science: anything that helps the SP feel safer will improve the session for the client!

But a board or database to review johns? Nope. That’s where I draw the line. There’s just so many ways that plan can go horribly wrong, blindingly fast…

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this concept...
  • Are the girls to write a review per encounter? Takes me long enough just to write 1... can't imagine a girl writing 4-10 per shift
  • How many members actually say they are on merb anyways? I rotate numbers and would never mention my handle in a meeting... how does that work ?
  • Rating clients on "looks, performance and even personality", I might be off... but pretty sure a large number of guys who often pay for sex would probably be in trouble with at least 2 out of 3. I know for a fact that I'm no Brad Pitt.... which is why I pay.
  • Guy isn't clean... he probably doesn't even know what that actually means to begin with. So even if you brought it up would probably go way over his head anyways. This is really the one that keeps coming back and I feel so bad for girls having to deal with this shit (literally).
  • A girl gets a bad review, she loses clients. A client gets a bad review... he's still going to find a girl to see... I just don't see any realistic benefits.

I'm with Pilgrim on this 100% "so many ways that plan can go horribly wrong, blindingly fast…"

I agree with Shantie. The safety, politeness, respect, and cleanness are probably the only points that are of value to SPs. If you want the review of your personal experience than it is actually the sexual service and should be paid for. I am sure it will be glorious if you are generous enough :D

I concur with your viewpoint. Some service providers indicated to me in previous session that they evaluate clients based on their level of respectfulness and personal hygiene with the agency . These assessments are linked to the client's phone number and address, and are updated after each session, with an additional note if the client is affiliated with the Merb platform. Given these circumstances, it would be logical for the agency to store this information on their phone. However, the situation is quite delicate since anyone who is blacklisted by the agency could easily obtain a burner phone and call from a hotel. I am uncertain if this is sufficient to retain information regarding unfavorable customers.

It’s certainly NOT sufficient if the goal is to come up with an airtight, bulletproof screening system to protect the girls.

But then again, unless you’re willing to publicly disclose the fact that you’re hobbying and/or involve government regulations (and even then…), such a system is probably quite impossible.

At the end of the day, several agencies have my real phone number, my real name and in one case also my MERB handle. While I understand this might make me vulnerable to them, it also provides the SPs with a significant measure of security. That, along with a solid track record, has served me well enough.

What is the problem with creating a platform exclusively for service providers' use? It is mandatory to either work as an agency employee or provide services to be considered eligible. I cannot delve into specifics due to confidentiality reasons, but I was offered access to a private platform designed for review service providers. During our session, we evaluated and discussed various service providers amongst ourselves. The platform had a highly elusive nature, as it maintained an underground status and could only be entered through receiving an invitation. Around 30 individuals were present on the platform, and this particular event transpired roughly 15 years prior. If a group of friends can accomplish it together, then why can't the service provider accomplish in between them?

You do have a point,
However, I consider those as bonus point, not a must have.

Hypothetically, let’s say he is in trouble with all 3. So what? He was still nice and clean. It was a pleasant encounter, which is all what counts for me and I would love to see him again.

Simply because with more and more meetings, the chemistry and lvl of intimacy will only increase. Sex only get better as you know better your partner and the chemistry will too. It’s only human a client can be nervous and shy in the first meeting. He gets more comfortable and open up, then the chemistry and conversation can really become amazing. I had too many example of those. you can’t form an opinion only to the first encounter.

To support my argument that look, performance and personality doesn’t matter

Quoting @naughtylady in her post (#74) in the thread “ Rate The Clients!”

“By the end of the hour instead of seeing some fat guy, I saw a kind, gentle, man who was thoughtful and tender and had the kindest light brown eyes.”

Again, I’m just putting my own perspective, everyone have right to a different opinion and I’m happy to read more

Precisely because service providers are not a group of friends.
At best, they’re colleagues. The mindset of most independants, I’d wager…
At worst, they’re straight up competitors! Agencies don’t necessarily play nice between each other…

I’m not saying it’s something Independant Network couldn’t pull off as a common ressource, I’m saying it’s probably not possible as an industry-wide initiative.

In any case, as far as I’m concerned, this thread would be way more fun if we were to review ourselves from the SPs perspectives! :p

Like a few of you folks mentioned probably not a good idea as that will probably create a level of tension, animosity and competition. We all think that it is focused in the bad seeds but we forget the negative impact a great hobbyist will have on this private board.

My 2 cents - if there was a platform, there would need to be an adjudication mechanism where a client can dispute a negative review from an SP. I think the reason SP reviews generally work on merb is because there is sufficient critical mass that one clients bad experience due to any number of reasons should not tarnish the reputation of a SP. If I visit a SP who has for any reason received a negative review from a client, and I then have a great time with this SP, I make it a point to post my positive experience to ensure that there is balance in the reviews.

Any marketplace needs a critical mass for the reviews to work in either direction. I understand that what we have is quite different due to the intimate nature of the exchange, but marketplace dynamics still apply. The biggest challenge with reviews is the retaliatory nature of negative reviews. In general for all the large marketplaces, the problem of tit-for-tat retaliation is that it ends up deteriorating the marketplace. Bad clients or buyers can abuse reviews, and the key is to make sure that these folks are weeded out - I am glad that SP's and agencies have a more private system where they can exchange client information. Hopefully, they can separate constructive feedback from subjective feedback, and keep this wonderful Merb marketplace healthy and vibrant into the future. I also think Montreal is a cultured and progressive city, so my hope is that the number of bad clients are very low, and everyone treats each other with respect.

In general certain valid comments have been put forth.

But on another hand when laying back and reading the thread without any side taken it's almost hilarious. Here we are almost scandalized at the mere thought that providers could, god forbid, judge us and, ouu horror, document it. And all this coming from us that are here to review the SPs.

Are we not way over thinking all this?

Already notes are taken by SPs be it Indy, salon or agency and to think the opposite is being naive. Relax, 99% don't rate you on the length of your cock or if you have pretty painted toe nails.

They note on above mentioned basic facts such as
cleanliness,
politeness,
do you respect your time or try to prolong with useless jibber jabber on your way out,
do you try to negotiate $,
basically, are you a nice guy or an asshole.

And why pray tell would SPs do this? Well shucks guess, and when it would come down to giving an appointment to either the well noted guy or the "hayy tits I wan ta fok ya ard", guess who she'll take. Most of us should'nt even give it a second thought if we act like gentlemen.

As an ending note it is also quit entertaining to see all our good recommendations that "she should do this or do that", ok we're trying to be helpful but let's not lose sight that these are mostly good willed, intelligent young women who have most certainly already taken all this into account and even more.

As many have said, anything that can help for their security, go for it.
