for the same reason when the canadian dollar rises in value the prices for goods in stores don't move.
What's with peoples always complaining about the ways things are in Québec? Anybody have a gun to anybody's head to stay here? If it's so bad, you guys should stop complaining and do something about it. Either go in politics, stop complaining or move out!
It have nothing to do with Québec in this case, it's the gas companies who dictate the price and none is based in Québec.

i dont agree with you here....i am not gonna move because of the gas price...i have a big truck..v8 hemi and it is costing me around 100$ a week to travel to work etc...and yes i am complaining cause compagnies make money from us...but yes for sure..i could go buy me a little car 4 cylinder and save a lot...but i love my truck and i am not gonna stop for that...but still...5 or 6 years ago....the gas was 59,9 a litter...so we get screw for sure....nothing change...but the only thing that i hate in quebec...that we complain...on chiale...etc...but we dont stand up for each other...like i remember a time that they all said...to go to petro canada to full your car....cool i did that....but still a lot of people was continue to do so...so we dont stand up for each other...so.....everybody know what to do to save...just go for a 4 cylinder...or even a scoooter lolllll...
and to move out of the montreal or quebec city....yes for sure i gonna go move to france..they pay a lot there for the gas...common...

Panthere, my comment was not directed at gas price, it was directed to those who complain all the time like if living in Québec was the worst place to live in the world.
Yes, there are things that are different here but, those who stay do because of something, no matter what it is. So, why always complain about this and that happening and implying that's because Québec sucks? Let's be positive here!

I usually fill-up in a little town between Ottawa and Montréal, on the Ontario side. Last week, $0.903/L. Can't beat this! 
I see a lot of Québec plates there so I guess I'm not the only one who found the spot!
They are usually at least 10-15 cents lower than Montréal and I've seen it go to over 20 cents lower a few times! It's usually about 6 cents lower than Ottawa.

You didn't get my drift stoneeca. What are YOU doing to make it change, besides complaining? Complaining idly on an escort board will not make things change.
It's easy to complain but sometimes we have to realize the grass isn't always greener elsewhere, sometimes the neighbor only have a different type of weeds.

They are keeping it high because there will be a lot of people traveling to the cottage this week end. Expect the prices to go lower after Labour Day.

The fact of the matter is that when it comes to taxes, Quebec is the worst place to live in North America. We are the highest taxed jurisdiction in North America and we have the largest and most inefficient civil service to go along with it.
If the Quebec government was running an escort agency, the price would be about $500/hour, all taxes included, and you would be lucky to get one service. The hour would include union mandated 15 minute shower time at the beginning and end of the session and a 15 minute break in the middle.

Oh no, the tax would not be included. And you would have to greet the girl in French first, and only offer wine where any English on the label is half the size of the French letters. Any tardiness would be blamed on road constructions and immigrant cab drivers driving too slowly.
