I have mentioned his lack of leadership, especially when he was in Montreal. He was known to have some Prima Dona attitude and played a role in dissensions in the team. Now, this could have changed, it seems he was very appreciated in the Golden Knights locker room.
In sports sometimes guys get different reputations when they go to different teams. Younger players mature and become better leaders with age. Sometimes changes of scenery alone help do this.

What we do know is the Leafs have some prima donnas on their team and severe leadership issues. Any team with the amount of younger talent they have needs a mix of veterans to go with it.

A good historical example in hockey is when the Islanders in the late 1970s acquired Butch Goring. Similarly when the NJ Devils brought in Claude Lemieux. 1995, anyone remember the sweep of the Vaunted Red Wings? Lemieux was a prime time player and gave their team a feistiness it didn't previously have.

Just what Pacioretty has done in terms of work and rehab off the ice to get back in shape may set an example to the Leafs of the kind of work ethic they need to have to stop the 1st round playoff eliminations.

I understand your point perfectly but, comparing Lemieux’s personality with Pacioretty’s is a bit of a stretch to make!
Just to look at Pacioretty body language and how low voiced he is in interviews says a lot about it.

Anyway, by now you guys should have figured it out, I never liked him and never will! Lmao

The Leafs managed to get their young coach fired and caused lots of people to lose money betting on them against the Bruins, a team that was very banged up and ready to be beaten. That series exposed a lot of painful leadership issues for the Leafs, which were on full display to a national TV audience.
What are you talking about? Nylander & Matthews missed several games in that series due to undisclosed injuries & their starting goalie missed game 7 due to a leg injury suffered right before the game! Had Nylander, Matthews & Woll been healthy i have no doubt they would have beaten Boston in 6 or 7 games. They also were without Bobby McMann for the entire series & his physical play would have been great to have in that series. Had the Leafs been coached by the great Scotty Bowman they likely still wouldn’t have won that series with their two best players & their top goalie missing so many games in that series.

Pacioretty is expected to only be a support player with his new team. If he can score 15 goals the team will be very happy.

Speaking of Pacioretty i almost forgot the time Zdeno Chara broke his neck when he played for the habs. I remembered all the habs fans wanting Chara’s head & that evening fans calling 911 asking for Chara to be arrested! Lol

It was a fair fight because David Krejci played with a significant injury and Brad Marchand was also hurt during that series. The real problem the Leafs had was too many prima donnas on their team and an inability to deal with hockey playoff adversity. That is why their management team is trying to get some leaders in the room who can help the team combat adversity like men rather than children.

The coach got fired because the team management felt they lost a fair fight that should not have been lost. He was not given a pass for having the player injuries, as you suggest he should have been. And that was as it should be. The Jets head coach was fired today for the same reason: he did not get the job done. This is not pee wee hockey. This is the NHL.

Hehehe! Well then I respect your wife but your first mistress is ugly I can’t stand her.
Tkachuk a pas détruit personne il est trop pissou pour droper contre Xhekaj y’a de la colle dans ses gants comme on dit en plus d’avoir l’épaule en compote, et Stülzle aurait dû devenir un joueur de soccer he’s great at laying down for no reason.

First of all David Krejci’s NHL career was on its last legs & he’s now retired from professionally hockey. He’s 38. Second Brad Marchand was injured in the following series against Florida. Third i have no idea who you’re referring to when younsay that the Leafs have too many primadonas. I’ve watched every single Leafs game since 1987 & the Leafs from last season had zero players i could consider to be primadonas. As i mentioned in that series their top 3 players who are also bonafide superstars in the league either missed several games or were playing sick or injured. Marner, Matthews, Nylander & #1 goalie Joseph Woll who had to miss game 7 due to a leg injury. You cannot win a series against a great team like the Bruins when you have 300 points missing from the lineup! What are you, another no-nothing Rangers fan? Lol

C’est pas ce que j’ai vu. Brady a completement detruit Arber et mon p’tit cousin Arber faisait la tortue! Lol

I reiterate my original statement about the team not being ready for the start of the season. It was pretty eloquent last night, despite the fact that the Leafs didn’t look more prepared! lol

It was very obvious, especially with our 1st line, they didn’t show any real depth, and they were, most of the time, a bit late on the play, particularly when defending.

The start of the 3rd was plain horrible for everyone, on the Canadiens side. The first 5 minutes saw them not being able to touch the puck once! Matheson got trapped, having to go through a 1:45 minute shift before being able to get back to the bench. Then right after, Hutson got the same treatment for 2:25 minutes!!! They managed to survive the storm without damage but it was ugly.

The game was exciting to watch, especially the first period where, both teams were cranked up to the max with the crowd reacting intensely to every single play. But when looking at the details, we can see how Toronto dominated from the second period.

The positive side is, we saw the young habs staying calm and focused on the task, no signs of panic, well, very few. Let’s see how this will translate against the Bruins.

I saw yesterday that Toronto have much more talented players and on the physical aspect they were dominant.

Of course, the Leafs are considered a serious contender for the cup this year, the habs on the other hand are not even expected to make it to the playoffs!

But I am very curious to see how the team will evolve through the season, given that Marty is in his 3rd year as the head coach. In my opinion, we have a right to expect a noticeable improvement and, also start to get a feel of what will be the indentity of the team for the years to come. Saint-Louis won’t have it as easy this year with the journalists and the fans critics.

What I am looking for is 85-90 points. In other words somewhere between Buffalo and Detroit in last year's standings:
