I agree that they've had a surprising start to the season but it's all a mirage. They'll end up out of the playoffs once again and will miss out on the top picks. Why? Because they have Carey Price as their goaltender & there's no way any team with Carey Price will finish last or anywhere close to it as long as he remains healthy for most of the season.

Keeping KK with the team all season long will be a huge mistake since this franchise currently isn't going anywhere & won't be for a few years. By keeping him in Mtl they will ruin him like they've ruined other former 1st round picks of the past. They absolutely need to remain patient with him and develop him slowly. Spending a year or two with Joel Bouchard in Laval would be great for his development.

It seems like Julien confirmed that Hudon will play tomorrow against the Bruins. I am guessing Shaw might be the odd Man out. On verra...

Shaw is indeed the one chosen to sit out the game.

Personally i'm extremely disappointed in Charles Hudon. I really believed he could play in this league and put up the points. Now i'm very doubtful.

Huge 3-0 win by the Habs in Boston last night. Carey Price was great, Drouin & Domi played extremely well in a well-deserved Habs win.

This team is starting to make believers out of many fans. Sure they no longer have Galchenyuk & Paccioretty but those players were not scoring anyways. Domi is proving to be a very skillful player & Drouin may finally be starting to play to his potential. They still have a healthy Carey Price between the pipes & let's not forget that highly-regarded coach Claude Julien is behind the bench and the team he's currently coaching is HIS team. Julien also has a highly qualified assistant coaching staff and the team is getting results.

I still say that Kotkaniemi should be sent down for the good of the player & his team but i'm starting to wonder if we're not looking at a playoff team.

But the season is still very young & there's a hell of a lot of hockey left to play.

Shutting out Boston at home is an impressive accomplishment. Pasternak came into last night with 10 goals in 10 games. Boston did have some chances late for Krejci and Pasternak, but there was an effective penalty kill late in the 3rd with Price having to make just one tough save on Krejci off good pass by Pasternak. Boston was stunned and pulled Rask with over 2 minutes left. The empty net goal was on a carom that was either lucky as hell or else a pool shot - perfect bank shot!

On KOTKANIEMI....Julien saids he reminds him of PASTRNAK at the same age.....wow....sans doute un peu prématuré mais quand on connaît Julien on sait qu' il connaît bien son hockey et ne parle pas pour rien dire .... what a boost for the kid........on va juste lui souhaiter de trouver en chemin des Bergeron et Marchand.....

Speaking of boosts, Shea Weber was seen practicing again today. I wonder if he is ahead of his timeable but whenever he does come back, that will be a big boost for the Habs

Last night's game was as if the habs were the boys against the men of Tampa. I missed the first period but the next two periods were dominated badly by the Bolts.

I told a buddy of mine during the game that maybe this is the game where we all come back to reality & realize that the season so far has possibly been nothing but a mirage.

I like Kotkaniemi. But he's only 18 and playing on a team that everyone predicted wouldn't make the playoffs. He finally scored a goal the other night, adding another one later. Nice. But he might not score another one for another 20 games or so.

Kotkaniemi will be a very good player. He reminds me a little bit of Bobby Smith. But the habs should do the right thing & be patient with him. Let him develop. There is no rush. Better give him time to develop his talent & his maturity instead of gambling his future away by keeping him with the team.

Habs are playing very exciting hockey right now. Claude Julien is a hell of a coach. Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun even wrote this morning that the habs reminds him of last year's Vegas team.

However, the season is still very young. Still lots of hockey left to play & a lot of things can happen to change the team's current fortunes. A losing streak would be difficult to overcome for this fragile team.

It seems like Niemi will be getting the start tonight in NY

No problem with that. Niemi is as good as Price these days & i believe it's a sign that Claude Julien doesn't think the habs will beat the Isles tonight no matter who's between the pipes. That's the life of a backup goaltender.
