Look behind you.
May as well cheer for the Habs, Oilers are out golfing and hopefully looking for a coach, couple of gaffes in the playoffs.

Quelle 2 eme periode!!!
Suzuki pulled a nifty move comme ils disent a TeeVee , et a jouer toute une partie
And it took a couple replay s to see that it was actually Price who saved that empty net with a desprate stick save!!!!
J aimerais que Domi se mele a la sauce ... pas certain des plans de Julien pour Domi mais il l a envoyer en fin de match....

I am sorry to hear that the Habs play against the Flyers drove poor Julien into the hospital. Maybe he needs to relax more and understand and accept it's just not a very good offensive team he is coaching. Coaching is a stressful profession. I am just glad I got out after a few seasons with my health.

Not enough goals, which is not really a surprise. You guys were expecting a Stanley Cup?

In their 4 losses to the Flyers, the Habs scored 1, 0, 0, and 2 goals. WTF? That's winning playoff hockey? Do the Flyers have an all star goalie and defensive corps I don't know anything about?

Perhaps next year we can bump the average size of the team up to 5'10 1/2, and maybe only ice 3 AHL calibre players instead of 5. Onward and downward, Bergevin.

Well like I said, the future is bright in MTL,
Maybe i m a dreamer but i m not the only one....
Yes a couple moves could help and pretty easy to quote the losing end goal scoring but on that note WSH scored 2 1 1 0 in their losses
Habs were the better team in that game 6 and even in the round 1

Well....it's over.....dommage...ils se sont bien battus....hier 33 tirs contre seulement 17......mais ce ne fut pas suffisant.....thanks particulièrement à SUZUKI et KK...both kids played very well....rien à leur reprocher.....same to PRICE----il aimerait bien sûrement revoir quelques filets hier----MAIS c'est lui qui nous a conduit jusque là......thanks also à BETMAN...LOL.....qui par sa générosité a permis aux HABS de prolonger leur saison pour notre plus grand plaisir......hélas la route est terminée......souhaitons un retour à la santé pour Julien.

on that note WSH scored 2 1 1 0 in their losses

WSH was facing a legitimate red hot goalie in Varlamov, who by the way was a 1st round draft pick of Washington, as well as their former coach Trotz who knew exactly what to do to stop their attack. Trotz bottled up and swallowed what they did. Trotz is DA MAN

Around the corner
The Habs don’t have a real scoring threat.
Price is not enough to win in the playoffs
If they keep getting guys like Drouin they will always be looking in on the playoffs.
Lafleur was the last super star goal scorer they have had, since then 0.
Bergevin is a joke. It has been 8 years now that the Habs have struggled under his leadership even a President in the US doesn’t get more than that to right the ship, time for him to fade into the mist.

Lafleur was the last super star goal scorer they have had, since then 0.

I am old enough to remember Lafleur in his prime. He was an awesome player, and I loved watching him. My recollection is that both he and Steve Shutt had 50 goal plus seasons, in fact one year (1976-77) Lafleur had 56 goals and Shutt had 60. The following year Lafleur had 60 goals. The Habs do not have anyone close to that kind of scorer. The team leader in goals this season was Tommy Tatar with 22 goals in 68 games. That means they would not have even had a 30 goal scorer in 82 games had they played it!!!!!!! And these guys in this thread insult Lafleur and Shutt by pretending that the guys on the team can do what they did.

And mind you the 1976-1979 Habs teams were really built on defense and the goaltending of Kenny Dryden. You added a couple of great scorers to that base and that's why they 4 peated. This team is light years away from what those teams were.

In 1978 Stanley Cup Finals, the Bruins coach Don Cherry ordered his players to hit Lafleur every time he touched the puck. They pummeled the shit out of Lafleur but he proved to be very tough in that series, although I believe Larry Robinson was finals MVP. The Bruins did succeed in stymieing the Habs offense, but the Bruins offense was not as good and they were completely bottled up, which is why the Habs won that series.
