I am surprised he is even still in the league. He shared goaltending duties for the Leafs with Jonathan Bernier from around 2013-2015. Maybe Montreal can pick up Bernier instead?
He’s one of those bible thumping freaks so maybe that’s the reason for his longevity. He’s been with many teams around the league like Florida, Carolina, Detroit, San Jose & so on. One night at a game I met his wife April when he played for the Leafs. She was a hottie at the time. Very nice girl but another bible-thumper like her husband.

McDavid reached 1000 points in 659 games, good for 4th best in NHL history.

Gretzky did it in 424 games
Lemieux needed 513
Bossy 656

It says a lot about how Gretzky was in a class of his own.

Same story: Habs lose again. This time by a score of 3-0. For the second time in their last three games they only had two shots in a period. Tonight it happened in the first period. Hard to win games when you have only two shots in a period & fail to score any goals. This is going to be a very long season if the Habs don’t make any trades to help the team. Especially if they don’t acquire a veteran backup goalie to help Monty. As for the chronic lack of scoring Raphael Harvey- Pinard is not the answer.

Hard to believe Philly came back to beat the Sens in a game greatly dominated by Ottawa. Ullmark having a terrible year so far. Terrible goal he let in in OT. Ottawa gave him a shitload of money. I wonder if they didn’t grossly overpay another goalie. Is Ottawa the place good goalie careers go to die or is it where average goalies go to get rich?

In other news Boston got beat pretty bad again. This is a team that looks average & soft. Not sure Montgomery lasts the season. Hearing he hasn’t yet been re-signed because someone told current associate coach & long-time Bruins assistant Joe Sacco to stay patient & that Montgomery’s job is his if they end up either firing him or not re-signing him. Who knows maybe GM Steve Kasper may be the one getting the ax instead.

And…Bolts beat the Peg!

They won’t, not this year. Hugues has been very clear about it this week. It’s not the right time to do it.
Next year he’ll say the same thing. To be honest so far Hughes hasn’t shown me anything. He hasn’t shown me that he’s up to the job. Since he’s been on the job his teams have regressed. I doubt the fans will put up with the team finishing near the basement for ten years. The danger of playing losing hockey year after year is that players get used to losing. The bigger danger is losing the fan base. For example i know people in Buffalo who were once huge Sabres fans but losing year after year has led to them stopping to watch hockey for good. They just don’t care anymore & they couldn’t even name a single Sabres player playing today. They totally tuned out & found other things to do. When the building starts emptying out in Montreal heads are going to start rolling. If this happens don’t be surprised if the team ends up being put to sale. Owning & running a team is quite a bit of fun but not when you lose year after year & you have the fans & media asking for your head.
