What you guys think? Been years since i followed wrestling but when i heard about it i had to check it up, and i must admit it give me the chill. Yes Goldberg never was the best thecnical wrestler or anything, but i liked his character and just seeing him again in a ring after this long seem majorly bad ass.

I will be completely honest (as I sit here and laugh in slight embarrassment), I totally watching the WWE as a kid and still do. I actually remember the first time I saw Goldberg in person and I lost it in the best way. There was something about him that I always liked as a kid and even now; like you, I think it's his character. Plus, don't we all love a good "comeback story" (Rocky Balboa anyone?). I must admit now as a young woman, he is quite attractive in my opinion. :)

It's cool Goldberg is back in that business because of his involment with this year wrestling game and that is match will be in Toronto, but they bring him to have his ass kick by Brock Lesnar.....which is a littlebit sad considering Brock doping scandal at UFC 200.

Hello all

Goldberg a player in the Monday night War
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_Night_Wars
WCW attempted to regain ratings supremacy by marketing ex-NFL player Bill Goldberg as an invincible monster with a record-breaking streak of 173 consecutive wins. Goldberg proved to be very popular with the fans and enjoyed some crossover success in mainstream popular culture. On July 6, 1998, airing from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, Nitro defeated Raw Is War in the ratings when Goldberg pinned Hollywood Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Was charismatic back then and still is

Cheers

Used to be a big fan of wrestling for years but the last couple i have drifted away from it but did however look forward to seeing Goldbergs return last night and glad i tuned in for it. Overll he seems like a really good guy with a good heart so was very happy for him to get this one last opportunity, if indeed it is the final hurrah.

Look behind you.
When I was younger we would always watch it, many rounds of fighting, not much talking ( Archie Goldie, Angelo Mosca, Mick Foley and the list goes on, these guys would put on a show ). Since the Rock and Sock connection stopped and they had those two old ladies do a lingerie fight, that was enough I gave up as the humor was gone and now it is all speech writers setting up a long script and a 5 min fight. If I am correct Goldberg hurt a lot of people because of his strength and not being very coordinated to perform the stunts properly.

Isn't it Goldberg who Bret Hart complained is the person who injured him, thus leading to his career ending stroke? Something like that?

From Hart's bio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_Hart

"On December 7, Hart and Goldberg won the WCW World Tag Team Championship from Creative Control, making Hart a double champion. Hart and Goldberg lost the tag team titles to The Outsiders on the December 13 edition of Nitro. At Starrcade, Hart defended his WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg. During the match, Hart was struck with a thrust kick to the head, resulting in a severe concussion. Hart later speculated that he may have suffered up to three additional concussions within matches over the course of that day along with the days immediately following Starrcade, having been unaware of the severity of his injuries. For example, Hart placed Goldberg on the post in a figure-four leg lock which ended with Hart hitting his head on the concrete floor when Goldberg failed to receive the move correctly. The sum total of those injuries left Hart with post-concussion syndrome and ultimately forced his retirement from professional wrestling. Hart later claimed that Goldberg "had a tendency to injure everyone he worked with." As part of his DVD documentary, Hart expressed regret that "someone as good-hearted as Bill Goldberg" was responsible for hurting him.Referee Roddy Piper rung the bell when Hart held Goldberg in the Sharpshooter, although Goldberg did not submit. Piper simply walked away, leaving both Goldberg and Hart bewildered."

Are you refering to the last WWE match of Goldberg at Wrestlemania XX against... Brock Lesnar 12 years ago.
The crowd were chanting : Booooring, Booooring all thru the match.
Those guys don't know how to wrestle !!!
So what's the point of having a Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar 2 ???

Even if its true rasslin is often more about the built up ,then the match itself

Andre vs Hulk at wrestlemania 3 which was a record attendance at the time ,the main eventers where definitely not talented technical wrestlers at the time ,but they where crowd drawer

tbh,

None of the top guys (including goldberg) from the late 90s wwf/wcw were great ring workers. Hulk hogan and Rock were pretty so-so. Austin was good until his neck injury.

That's the reason they do this match again, because the first one was so bad and the fact that Goldberg as win it.
Brock is made up to be a unbeatable rude beast since he came back in wrestling and they want him to beat the only guy who legit beat him to probably make him lose at wrestlemania aginst one of the new guys.

No I am referring to the hype for a overheated wrestler called Goldberg, and Brock ain't any better. And WWE is always trying to bring back the Attitude era guys who are now passe. They have great talent in RAW, Smack-down, and in the up-incomers on NXT.

In NXT 1/3 of those wrestlers are Main Eventers, but the problem is that WWE holds them back.

WWE & TNA have become boring to watch and it has been for the last 10 years or so.

Let's face it, if these guys met 5 times in their respective primes, Goldberg would have beaten Lesnar's ass 5 times, and caused a retirement like he did with Hart. Now they are just old, well out of their prime shapes, and it is more comedy show than competition. I read that Goldberg owned a successful gym out in California but maybe he got reckless investing and needs money. He seems like a genuinely nice guy but he potentially could tarnish his legacy, not to mention these guys can have serious injuries at this age trying to relive the glory days of their youth. I am in the same age group as Goldberg and my neck hurts every day and hurts even more when I think about getting in a ring and doing those kinds of maneuvers.

i'm not saying the match will be any good...it will probably be a shitshow and ends in stupid bullshit that only wwe can do, but the goal of this is basically to build a guy to beat Brock in the future (Finn Balor or Roman Reings) and bring back older fans, since both show are doing terribly against football and election coverage. I just hope it will be better than Hulk Hogan vs Shaw Michaels in 2005.

To answer some questions

1) Goldberg did deliver that superkick that gave a concussion to Hart, he didn't imediately retired, but it could be one of the reason why he had to, he didn't took a break after that, he wrestle some more but then it was too late. So yes Bill is responsible for it, accidentaly obviously, but is it just HIS fault? I dunno

2) The Lesnar/Goldberg match was boring because mostly it was badly booked to start with, it should had been a NO DQ or HIAC or something like that. Just a regular match... nop. But the big problem was that both wrestlers contract where ending, so they didn't gave a shit... they just cash there pay check. Even tough there older... i have a feeling the next one should be much better. Not 5 star rating obviously but entertaining.

3) I think Lesnar will win as well, but i hope it will not be Goldberg last match, i would love to see it become a trilogy and end on a Goldberg win at mania once again, something like that, but this time in a great way.

Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels was shit because Hogan's ego got in the way. It was supose to be a trilogy, then Hogan said his body couldn't take it anymore and blablabla, originaly Michaels was supose to win the first match but Hogan having power like he did backstage was able to have the win. HBK decided to troll and oversell everything, it was at least funny to watch.
