When there was Indy car racng here in Montreal a few years back…. they would roll out the race cars amongst the crowd…. you could touch them. Drivers would sign caps and t-shirts. You could watch them work and tune the cars….car racing is a spectator sport….if not enough to watch them go round and round.
You can see all that in the F1 paddock. Better to go when it’s not a race day, because there is less of a rush and it’s not so crowded.

After being a gold section member for years I stopped going in the mid 2000s, seriously the best seats to watch a race is in the comfort of my living room!
Agree 100%. Impossible to follow the race as a spectator. AFAIC going to the track is about hearing the engines, seeing the cars zoom by, seeing the people and supporting your favorite team/driver.

One nice thing about the Grand Prix is that suddenly the Global Warming banning gasoline cars by 2030 news has disappeared from the news cycle. I guess it would be hypocritical to feed that type of news during the hype promotion phase of the grand prix.

Hey buddy, I'm not here to engage in arguments or seek out nitpicking mistakes to use as a basis for conflict with others members . My main aim is to have a good time and unwind. If you are correct, then kudos to you and I'm sorry. Let's refrain from bullying someone for their views or opinions.

Let's refrain from bullying someone for their views or opinions.

Every now and then you bring this bullying bs of yours around to defend the fact that you get caught in saying things that you obviously don’t know fuck about!

This here, is a good example of how condescending you can be with your arrogance, which is a form of bullying:

Nice effort, my friend. The article you mentioned was published in 2014.

As for @staedtler’s post he only put a link to point to my answer here:

Since then the numbers got worse for both Alberta an Saskatchewan

I sincerely don’t see any bullying here!

I know, I know, now you feel the urge to write back with 25 paragraphs of justification s to try to make a good impression but, you know what? Don’t bother, I won’t even read it!

My knowledge is top-notch captain, and unfortunately, some of you enjoy bullying others simply because you are bored and hidden behind a screen. I never engage in bullying behavior; I only express my opinions. However, some individuals choose to argue and bully me instead. Rather than embracing the forum for its intended purpose, some users seem to prefer engaging in pointless arguments. Is it feasible for us all to put aside any differences and come together to appreciate the world's best forum?

Today, as I drove along the 15 highway from Laval to downtown, I couldn't help but notice the remarkably smooth and well-maintained roads. They felt almost as sleek as a Formula One track! However, this experience also brought to mind a sense of hypocrisy at its finest. It seems that the city only bothers to fix the roads to impress tourists during the Grand Prix, while the rest of the year, the citizens are left dealing with the consequences of the city's incompetence. This stark contrast leaves me feeling puzzled and disillusioned with the city's priorities.

Mister doubleO seven..,

Absolutely true that Montreal's road are in need of much more love...,
But if I read you correctly, your comment was about the highway 15 smoothness.., which has nothing to do with our city's priorities. All the highways construction and maintenance in the province are the sole responsability of the Transport Ministry.
All that being written, I feel you when you wrote that you are 'feeling puzzled and disillusioned with the city's priorities''.

Hey buddy,

I don’t see any bullying here. However, when you say things like " my knowledge is top-notch " it does come off as arrogance.

We all have something to learn. There is humility in realizing that we do not know everything.

Even Socrates said, " All I know is that I know nothing. "

Hello friend, I truly appreciate your transparency and honesty in your reply. I take pride in my knowledge and confidently stand by the things I know. While I may sometimes offer opinions that come from my unique perspective, I always aim to speak truthfully and directly without beating around the bush. My intention is not to come across as cocky or arrogant, but rather to share my thoughts openly. I understand that not everyone will agree with me, and that's perfectly fine - it's up to each individual to decide whether they agree with my perspective or not. Unfortunately, in online forums like this one, some individuals seem to have too much time on their hands and are quick to criticize or mock others for their opinions . When I come across posts I disagree with, I either choose to ignore them or respond respectfully without disrespecting anyone. Just as you disagreed with me, you responded in a gentlemanly manner, and I commend you for that. I value your honesty and the way you engage in discussions.

Last time I attended was the quali on Saturday in 2019. 75$ in the Senna curve. My strategy back then was to look for single day tickets the week before the event. Would always find a pair. Now no more and prices 4x. Did the 3day package way back in the 90's for 300$ . One of the days was rainsoaked from morning to night. That's the turn off from buying a package way ahead. weather. Now I go for the vibes on Crescent and little Italy.

I'm curious to see if anyone in this forum will be attending the Grand Prix and partaking in the festivities in Montréal.

Personally, I find the Grand Prix to be overhyped. It seems like the city of Montreal goes all out to present itself in a perfect light, covering up potholes and minimizing traffic and construction just to attract more tourists in the future.

Their tactics during Grand Prix week to portray Montreal as one of the best and safest cities in the world are rather transparent and hypocritical.

In my view, the Grand Prix is overly commercialized and exorbitantly priced. You'd probably get more bang for your buck by going on a vacation with the same amount of money you'd spend over that weekend.

The nightlife and dining scene are both excessively expensive, taking advantage of both locals and visitors. The whole atmosphere feels like a facade, with inflated prices and a focus on appearances rather than genuine experiences.

It's a shame that such a renowned event is marred by these commercial and superficial aspects.
This city malheureusement doesn’t know how to host big events- getting in and out of the venue is the biggest headache. One way in and one way out can take you over 2 hours each way- they have no clue how to organize events. Born and raised francophone hère but must admit the Quebec and Montreal governments are the most incompetent in North America. Absolute idiots.

How is the weather in Montreal, gentlemen’s? It seems that almost every year during the Grand Prix Formula One season, Montreal experiences unfavorable weather conditions. It's interesting to ponder whether this is simply a coincidence or perhaps a recurring curse on the city.
