Blaming the loss on officiating, luck, the phase of the moon, etc. is not "sour grapes", it's just complaining.

Note to the readers, I didn't blame the Habs loss on "luck", nor am I complaining. I simply noted than intangibles are part of sports and that "luck", "breaks" or whatever you want to call them are part of said intangibles.

In Macbeth Shakespeare wrote something to the effect of "Methinks the lady doth protest too much."

I wonder whether Shakespeare spelled "sadly" with an extra "d" as certain modern protest artists seem to.

I'm not that big of a hockey fan anyway, so I have no desire or time to engage in a lenghty debate on how intangibles affect the outcome of sporting events. So I'll leave it at that. :)

Hey JB,

For a guy who is "not that big of a hockey fan" you sure seem concerned about spelling out the meaning of this "luck" stuff precisely.

Toodles,

Korbel

Better goaltending and more opportunistic, yes. Outplayed, no. And to use an old cliche, in sports it sometimes pays off to be more lucky than good.

You know, Korbel, if you look at the posts of Bobby's that you quoted and then if you look at this post of Bobby's that I'm quoting, you might almost think that he's contradicting himself. By God, he is contradicting himself. Hey - why am I not surprised?

Well, just as I predicted, the hapless Flyers have no answer for Crosby, Malkin, Hossa & company as Philly goes down tonight and will soon join my beloved Habs on the front 9 in about three or so games :D

btw, Hossa would look good in a Habs uni - make it so Bob!

I'd be careful with the insults if I were you gogabsgo. If the Flyers are indeed "hapless" what does that make the habs, who lost 4 of 5 games against them?

Personally I like to praise the competition. Then if I lose it's because I lost to a great team, and if I win I must be REALLY good.

As for Hossa, Bob already tried to get him and failed.

By the way, don't read this as me being a Flyers fan - I'm not.

Let's not forget that the Flyers lost games one in both Washington and Montreal series yet ended up winning both....

another loss for the sinking Flyers - Pittsburgh's 4th line with the game winner - by the end of game 4 Philly will be playing golf :D

Wonder if the Habs could've done better? Lol.

Yes...the FLyers have lost the first two games but played well in game two using 5 defensmen after losing Braydon Coburn two minutes into the game. They also lost Kimmo Timonen prior to the start of the series...

Montreal on the other hand lost to the FLYERS in 5 games...so what does that say about the HABS, since they have already started their golf lesson???

I take great satisfaction in knowing it was the FLYERS that beat your HABS because NOTHING you say can actually bother me...hearing you putting the Flyers down just makes it soooo much sweater!!!

let the excuses begin ...

btw, what a cheap shot by Downie on Sykora - typical Flyers

YEAH...but the Malkin elbow to Briere wasn't cheap...as I said previously GOHABSGO you are a loser...

But it sure does feel nice that it was that typical FLYERS team that knocked your HABS out of the playoffs!!! :D

lucky Flyers hold on despite being outplayed for most of the game and the entire third period - my prediction from May 4 stands: Pens in 5! :D

Typical dirty Philly, goons it up at the end of the game. No wonder the Flyers are a bush league team and organization right from the top with clowns like Bobbie Clarke right on down to punks like Downey

As stated by the ever impartial individual that goes by the handel GOHABSGO...

but then you said the Flyers would lose last nights game...and the fact you stated the flyer's were outplayed for most of the game really adds credibility to your post...

Pens take out the trash!

Flyers luck runs out, Pens deliver 6-0 beating to hapless Philly team – series exposes Flyers as an AHL team!

Well, it didn’t turn out to be much of a series and just as I predicted, the Flyers go out easily in 5. Philly might have won 1 or 2 periods in the whole series. When will the excuses that Flyer fans are so known for start? - like blaming the refs as an excuse for their teams poor performance?

So much for the big, tough Flyers – Hatcher is tough when he’s fighting non-fighters (like at the end of game 4) but when Laraque asks him to dance, Hatcher skates away! Flyer goonish tactics and thuggery from a classless organization and team will only get you so far, then talent (Crosby, Malkin … etc …) will win out. As for Timmonen, he didn’t matter at all - and where was Briere?

As for beating the Habs, the Flyers were lucky enough to run into a rookie tender (Price) who happened to get a bit rattled – but that won’t happen again, so Philly fans shouldn’t be gloating that their team was more fortuitous (getting all the breaks and bounces) than Montreal

OH yeah...that 4-1 series against the HABS was just luck GOHABSGO...and for the record it was Malone that was throwing punches at Hatcher that started that fight at the end of game 4...Hatcher responding to Laraque in the first period would be like Comersarek responding to COTE...I certainly didn't see Laraque offer the same challenge in the third period...but I wouldn't expect any truth or honesty from the likes of you...you've been a low class loser from day one, so why change now!!!

By the way GOHABSGO - you also predicted the HABS would beat the FLYERS in 5...SO HOW DID THAT WORK OUT FOR YOU??? :D
