even with condom usage

hiv risk is not zero. Actually some people say it can be up to 30% with a hobby girl. And that they could up to 10% prevalence of HIV

Robertpal:

Here's a suggesting, when in need of medical advice seek doctor. Get tested, it's anonymous and (almost) free. Get informed about your risks at the same time. Visit a clinic that won't look down at you: L'alternative. Look it up in the phone book... it's on St-Hubert.

Actually some people say that there is life on Mars, and that the Earth is flat.

robertpal, I don't know the source of these bullshit stats but I would really think before you post stuff like this. Your credibility here is waning badly.

Your chances of getting HIV from a girl you pick up at a bar and have BBBFS with in a drunken stupor is going to be a lot higher than anything else that you might do in this hobby.

Just an FYI in case anyone is unaware, you can get easily immunized against Hepatitis A and B, one of which (I can't remember which) leads to one form of cancer. (There's no vaccination for Hepatitis C, though, unfortunately.)

It's extremely rare for HIV antibodies to not be detectable within 3 months. Your immune system would have to be severely compromised from another illness for that to happen. In other words, you were doomed before you were exposed to the virus.

I don't recall the exact figures, but the majority of people will produce the antibodies within 1 month. A test at 3 months is considered conclusive by most doctors. It's over 95% accurate.

It's also rare for men to contract the disease through vaginal sex. Especially with condom. That's damn near unheared of. I wouldn't worry unless the condom was broken and bloody.

upnsmoke>> where did you get yuor information from?

I have a friend who is HIV positive (after a rape) who did not test positive at 3 months but did at 6 months. Her health was not compromised at the time. This was a few years ago. She currently is not taking any drugs and is healthy. In fact I catch more colds and flus each year than she does!

Also, if the condom breaks, even if there is no visible blood, you both are at risk. Play safe but keep it real.

She currently is not taking any drugs

The implication being that she did at the time? Because that could also compromise your immune system.

The consensus is that virtually all cases of HIV infection can be detected by three months. Cases where it takes longer than 3 are extremely rare. Especially when there are no compromises to the immune system.

I think what Ronnie ment was the girl still doesn't take any HIV-related drugs to control the side effects.
