How come people aren't generally afraid of BBBJ, given that you can get the same stds as with BB sex?

But i heard that they found a cure for herpes.
There is no cure for herpes.
There is much talk of this in the medical section of MERB. Tons and tons and tons of people receive at least a preliminary BBBJ from providers in Montreal and there is no rash of diseases being procured. The risk part is when you actually climax in a woman's mouth (I believe) and that risk is quite quite low. BBBJ is a very standard practice stretching from a few early licks to wake up Mr. Wiggly to long sessions of adoration to completion and ingestion of the love juices (ha, ha) , but having said that, only about 40% or so engage in this. Technically speaking, yes, there are a number of things you could catch but the vast numbers out there outweigh my concerns. Oddly, I personally find it hard (LOL) to get enough pressure that way to experience the pinnacle of exstatic nirvanna.
To each their own.....

Look behind you.
I am more afraid of DFK with a SP if I am not first of the day ( If she gives BBBJ ). I know it is just me but........................ And for DFK with someone who rims................... Nope... Again, my quirk ( of many ).

Kissing is probably the most low-risk activity there is as long as you do not see any open wounds and or cold-sores (oral herpes which can become genital herpes.) --As for rimming (which no one should be doing really) intestinal parasites are not fun and easily transmitted.

Condoms do not protect you from all STD's - Herpes can still be contracted by Anal, Vaginal or Oral sex even when wearing a condom since it's transmitted by skin to skin contact, your pubic region is still coming in contact with the potentially infected area.

The same when it comes to Syphilis. Contact with the infected region can lead to infection. The softer the skin the easier to infect... public area, lips etc. However, you can still get infected with Syphilis on any part of the body... hands, fingers, legs.. if they have come into contact with skin infected with Syphilis.

Also if you're using condoms against disease the condoms *MUST* say "disease prevention" (or something similar) some condoms made for "intense pleasure" and "better sensations" are not tested in the same way and may allow viruses such as HIV/Syphilis etc to get through. These sorts of condoms are made for pleasure and as a contraception device, not as a barrier to disease... so be careful.

Also Anal sex with or without a condom is extremely risky for both parties. Furthermore constant tearing of the rectum can also lead to infection and eventually an immunodeficiency issue, and or total collapse of the immune system -- sort of like AIDS but self induced by the poisoning of the blood.

Imo, Canada needs better sex education.

Wrong. Herpes is contracted by skin to skin contact. It has nothing to do with if you climax in her mouth or not. If she has herpes on her skin (lips, genital area, buttocks, pubic mound etc) and you touch them, even if only for a few seconds, you now run the risk of infection yourself. Herpes is usually only infectious when the bumps are sore and itchy and mostly visible, but, not always. You can contract herpes by someone who is infected and shows no outward symptoms whatsoever.

Another thing - STD's can lay dormant with no outward symptoms for months (some even a years) and yet still be infectious to the victim's partners.

HSV1 and HSV2 for the most part are completely interchangeable. A LOT of people carry HSV1 (like 70% of the population), HSV1 and 2 are basically the same and can infect either area. If you're having a BBBJ from a carrier of HSV-1 you can end up with genital herpes. It's sort of like a dice roll.

Lust is very powerful. BBBJ are awesome and in the heat of the moment . . . rationality goes out the window, especially if the SP is fairly attractive.

There is no cure for herpes, it can infect you only if the person is on an herpes attack (which is mostly started when someone got high stress)... but if she is not having one you are safe...but even there protect yourself... the pill just help to make it disappear faster.... and its call valtrex, any part of your body could have genital herpes even your finger... you just need to be in contact or got a scratch somewhere to get infected...

This is wrong. Herpes *can* be transmitted even if the sufferer shows no outward symptoms. If a person has herpes (HSV-1 or 2) you can contract it even if you cannot see any symptoms, bumps or sores. HSV-2 (genital area preference virus) is much more likely to be transmitted without symptoms than is HSV-1 (oral area, cold sore virus -- which CAN infect the genital area as well).

Any reference for that?

Condoms are classified as medical devices in Canada, and are regulated by Health Canada. Therefore, I would assume that all condoms sold here meet strict testing requirements, i.e. not 100% safe, but very, very close.
Are "thinner" condoms really more fragile? I can't find any studies that proves or disproves it. If by any chance you could point to a study or a link, it would help.

I would think that all condoms sold in Canada are meant to prevent diseases first, and then to prevent pregnancies, as there are other contraceptives out there that could prevent pregnancies without preventing diseases.

This would lead me to wonder 'how often do SPs or frequent hobbyists get checked?'

BBBJ has always been a lingering concern in my mind. I try to make a calculated judgement call based on who, where, how popular the SP is. But this is purely instinctive and by no means scientific.

I guess it's the risk we all take here to trust one another that at first sign of something potential you ground yourself in your room until you're healed and no sneaking out!

This thread reminds me of the Swingers giving advice on this other sex site I hang out. They swing but they all do CBJ and they DFK but with dental tucks etc. etc. Fuck that! I'll stay home and jerk off to porn. Too much fucking rubber-on-rubber for me. Every time you cross a busy street in Montreal you take a chance. It is about risk assessment. I've got friends that stopped eating sushi due to a report on 60 minutes or something.

You want to keep yourself perfectly safe from STDs? Stay home and jerk off to porn.

Bikone, who made you the professor ? Are you a PhD, a doctor, a paranoid. According to you just touching anyone and you "could" get 15 diseases. Calm the heck down. If what you are preaching were true, 80% of MERB would all be dieseased in five minutes.
These medical threads are filled with all sorts of opinions and then too much focus on the outside chance of getting this or that. It's just a question of how much risk you want to take and who's medical data you want to believe. People get struck by lightning twice in their life, but then some people never get struck ever. Do you never want to go outside?

People out there, believe what you want to believe and get as paranoid as you wish, or just calm the heck down.

Question is how come people aren't generally afraid of BBBJ.
Same question can be asked how come people will do DATY without a dental dam!

One thing I would like to emphasize on: statistics gives us a number, it can be as accurate as it could be, but sometimes it's misleading. For example, it may be 99.99% safe, but still someone may get it on the first occasion. Therefore numbers are good references, but they are just numbers.

ME too. No more in-call as I may have to cross busy streets. I will only do Out-call so the SP will have to navigate the gauntlet of dangerous streets to come see me. But I am sticking with BBBJs!
