Doc,

It was I who told you to register your handle immediately on MERB right after MERB started so that no "impostor" could do so. And I understand that there have been a few Doc Holliday impostors over the years, but only one original.:D At the time you were of course a well known poster on TBD and Canbest.

I miss the good ole days of Doc Holliday's saloon.............. now we have the MERB chat of course, but the level of informational exchange in there does not seem quite as high as what it was in the now long closed saloon.

Same here. But one reason why the level of informational exchange isn't quite as high as back in the days of the saloon is possibly due to the fact that back then, we were (well, I was anyways) a bit naive about how easy it was for people with an agenda to copy & paste chat content & email it to various sources, including the person being discussed in the chatroom. Everything that came into our minds would be discussed....no holds barred discussions! I actually learned a lot about computing just from dealing with the problems this chat caused me. But all in all, the whole experiment was a very positive one & i met a lot of great people because of that site alone & several of these former members are now among my very best of friends. But all good things must come to an end....

Regarding my earlier post, the reason i had chosen the JustaJohn handle at the time was because an acquaintance of mine in the business was posting under the handle "JustanSp". I won't divulge who she was, but at the time, she was a very prominent member of the "Saloon". She had once mentionned to me that i should start posting again, so to satisfy her, i jokingly began posting under the JaJ handle. Like i said, it was supposed to be only for one post, but the handle took a life of its own & i later felt bad about ending JaJ's life & then resurrecting the Doc Holliday character, where he put in his two cents whenever he felt the need for it & once again enjoyed re-telling his tales about life in the ol' west & meeting many of Mtl's (Dodge City) finest sps.
