Old post, but reminded me of Fred Zed, who died years ago. I don't recall the MERC board, but I recall that Fred had another board I was active on pre-terb, etc. I only recall a kind of funny name. I was also active on Canbest, The Big Doggie, and the one run by a woman, which I think is still around, but I forgot the name.

There was some big dispute at the time with another board, and I had, as I recall, some phone discussions with Fred, who contacted me, but I forget the details.

This may have been when I was active in Victoria BC, before I started going to the Toronto area or my early trip to Montreal.

Nice trip down memory lane :)

Pretty sure i told that story before but basically in 2007 me and a friend started going to concerts in Quebec, and we visited a few of the stripclubs. My friend was not coming to the one i was going in April 2019 but i was still interested to "finish the night somewhere" even if alone, so i googled to see if there was an interesting place near my hotel and for some reasons i arrived on Merb (since it has a strip club section) so basically google brough me here. I had dabbled a bit into the hobby briefly couple years prior but experiences were very bad in Sherbrooke. But browsing Merb i noticed it looked a lot different and agencies had websites with actual pictures and everything.

Lucky for me, one of the SP who worked at Devilish also did indy tour and she was coming to Sherbrooke. Any of you remember K.I.M (writing like that)? So instead of going to the stripclub in Quebec after the show, i used the money i had put aside to meet her the next day when i was back in Sherbrooke.

Even tough i only took a BJ (but did my first COF) i really enjoyed it so i decided to redo the experience directly in Montreal the next month (wich was also my birthday so i was also meeting with friends at the same time after). And aftter a long time reading on agencies, SPs, etc, i settled on one that was available that day and it turned out also amazing. I was litterally starstrucked by that woman. Too bad she left 3 weeks later. Couldn't see her a second time. And to my knowledge i never saw her pop anywhere else (at least in the Merb agencies at the time) but then again i was not as knowledgable as i am now.

So it was trough Merb that i really got into the business. Otherwise after the bad experiences i had in Sherbrooke, i had decided "never again". You had to call a newspaper ad and the booker on phone would lie to you on services, stats etc ... The second time was an incall and i still remember it was just a mattress on the floor with 1 night table and some blue light in the room....

Been reading the post, and many people talk about the past. Been a member since 15 yrs, but was wondering if anyone can remember further back, during the days of Yahoo, WebCrawler and Lycos, I have a faint memory of downloading a Lotus 123 or Excel spread sheet , for SP's in Montreal. ( I know, almost 70yrs old) .
Can't figure out if it is my memory that fails me, or I was actually downloading the file. Which I would have kept the 5.1/4 diskette !
I remember subscribing to the internet as far back as 1990, using a probably a US Robotics 2.2V.
My question : can anyone remember if my memory is correct, we used to download a spreadsheet for SP's in Montreal.

;)

It was around 2005. I was looking for infos about a SP. One answer was a merb thread. Took me years to register for an account. Thanks to MERB, i had some wonderfull experiences.

Yes, the spreadsheet then became a looong list on a webpage with names, description, price and 3 scores from 1-5

Discussed here: https://merb.cc/xenforo/threads/the-spreadsheet.2/
