So I will be in Cuba soon, I would like to bring back some cigars. I am not a regulare smoker. Any suggestions.

First, buy your cigars in a LCDH (La Casa del Habano). There, you'll be sure to buy genuine habanos and not scraps and fakes cigars rolled with banana peels.
Depending of price you're ready to pay, l would recommend you Romeo y julietta Mille fleurs, a good habano for beginners. Enjoy ��
As said before never buy cigar by the cousin, neighbour, brother or anny kind of roller who work in a factory... Big chances to buy scrap ...
If you have the opportunity to buy CUABA not COHIBA, Cuaba they are verry difficult to produce. They are about 1% of the volume made inall the cuban factorys. Only one siteproduction in Pilotos at Pinar del Rio.... iTraditionales or generosos are verry sweet and easy to smoke. BTW not easy to find on the island too. You better to order a soon you are there... MTC

As mentioned before, buy in state shop, hotel or airport, not on the beach to a friendly guy. I like Cristales and Romeo y Julietta (cigarillos).

If you buy off the street you will never get it out of Cuba, at the airport you have to show that the box has the government stamp affixed to it and you have to show reciept for the origin of purchase. Only the government store at the airport or authorized dealers at hotels can sell legal cigars.

Il y a environ 4-5 ans, je suis allé à Cuba avec mon frère et nous avions achetés chacun une boite de cigares (Montecristo et Romeo y Julietta si ne me trompe pas). Je les avais revendu (avec excellent profit) ici à mon retour, et tout le monde était heureux. Un autre événement gagnant-gagnant.

Fonseca No. 1 cigars are very mild and recommended if you are not a regular smoker. They will run you about $125 per box of 25 in Cuba.

If you are interested in cigars then the best time to go to Havana is around mid November during the cigar festival.
If you have connections then you can get tickets to parties where you can smoke 50 buck cigars till you barf and then fuck cute Latinas that attend the parties.... for free. Just give them a 20 buck tip.

Have been to cuba 4 times by year since 8 years and I can not figure out what you are talking about. When you get out of Cuba they take care of security for the plane (limit for liquids, no gun, no matches, etc...). Never saw or heard someone having to produce receipt for item bought on the island. Customs in Canada will take care of those importation limits. Anyways, unless I buy at the cuban airport, I place those things in my registered luggage within a big ziplock to be sure to protect them in case of a spillage and I don't buy on the street. I don't say you are wrong but it must have been a special operation directed to some trafic.

Jalimon j'ai le Zacapa 23 ans, ainsi que le Plantation 20ième anniversaire, le Diplomatico. Il me manque le Dos Maderas 5+5 que je compte acheter dans les prochaines semaines.Mais le Pasador demeure mon top, et faire attention il y a 2 Pasador. IL ne faut pas prendre celui à $110, vraiment le moins cher est extraordinaire. Rhum du Guatemala, envoyé en France et vieilli en fut de Cognac. Un bonheur.
Pour tous ses rhums, dans un verre à cognac, straight. Jamais de glace, jamais de coke ou autre additifs. À la limite une pierre de dégustation réfrigéré.

Cohiba Esplendidos if you’re into really smooth cigars. Smoke one with a Macallan single malt highland scotch that’s also really smooth for an outstanding night beachside experience.
I also picked up when I was there a 15 year old Havana Club Grand Reserva brown rhum that was excellent for the price.
