225 men have been caught and forced to go to John school since 2022...can't beleive it.
I cant imagine being forced to go to John school, but better than going to jail. By the end of the program i bet fifty bucks that i am going to be the one to educate them.
I said it before this "John School" idea is funny. I would like to do it but without the legal penalties. Im curious to see what they "teach". Im aware there is a darkside to the "hobby". I know very bad things happen. That does not mean its representating of "all".

I think Sonia Von Sacher should do John School. She would be great there to teach them a few things :)

Wow, just read about xo getting busted. I have been away from the hobby since I started this thread back on October.

Did they ever come after any clients?

Last time I used xo was back in 2024, but still a bit concerned.

Let’s be honest, American laws are generally stricter than Canadian ones, particularly when it comes to issues like prostitution. In provinces like Quebec, authorities often turn a blind eye unless criminal elements such as underage involvement or pimping are present. As long as agencies pay their taxes and operate within certain lines, enforcement is minimal. Corruption and selective enforcement seem to be part of the system. Realistically, Quebec has become the capital of prostitution in Canada. Just as the government has commercialized and regulated gambling and cannabis for revenue, mark my words it's only a matter of time before prostitution is fully legislated for financial gain. Quebec already has an overwhelming number of gambling establishments more than any other province I’ve seen. It’s baffling how the government supports gambling, given its devastating social impact: economic hardship, addiction, depression, and even suicide. But at the end of the day, it’s all about money in this province. I understand many won’t agree with me, and that’s fine freedom of speech is one of the few things that still makes Canada truly great.
As long as agencies pay their taxes you said ?How's that, what business activity they declare their revenue on ?

Escorting is a business and has been for years. They are employers who supply a date for you, as to attend social functions', such as concerts, parties, charity events and even for just a simple date for you to attend a movie or dinner.

You are paying for a service from these agency's and they give a salary to their employees. The agency pays taxes, and the employees pay taxes.

This is a known business and they are incorporated businesses and yes, they have to pay taxes.

And as far as anything else is concerned, anything that happens on these dates before or after, is considered activities between 2 consenting adults and is not a taxable activity. LOL.

It’s an all CASH business for many reasons.

I can only assume they go after the owners asking them to prove their income and then they assume how much cash money comes in from the business.... but that probably happens only once they get busted for some reason. It is sad to see that Quebec is now going after John's with such determination.... Longueuil, then Sherbrooke..... what's next? Some of us enjoy the part time ladies, I mean 2 of my favorites ladies in this business are in serious relationships with established guys (lawyers and execs) but they love sex and love their independance and enjoy making their own money so they work a day or two per week.... I don't see what's wrong with that..... They should focus on the darker side of the industry rather than going after all Johns.

Luna, facts are facts..
Come on.. nobody is going after clients. It's just not something anybody has shared here at all

Luna,

I invite you to do a google search with : C3ESSE AND Longueuil AND Sherbrooke and check out CIVAS Montérigie.....

Essentially, they started doing sting operations in Longueuil a few years ago, more recently the city of Sherbrooke followed suit.... They target the regular clients by posting adds online and then once the person shows up to the motel the cops are in the room waiting. They get arrested, processed and if the fit the bill of the program they can join the 'john school" in which they will be reformated bye the governement.... It is a reality and it is happening now. They don't disclose when they start but it ends up in the papers like in Sherbrooke as a judge and a prominent Lawyer got busted. And this is all for sollicitation of adult SW. Will Montreal be the next to join? Keep in mind the SPVM police chief was the chief of Longueuil prior and during the period that the first program was lunched. I would estimate that SPVM is finalizing their plans currently and will be set to deploy by 2027...

Look into it please, I'd be curious to know your perspective on the topic Luna.

I have looked into this. But this is not in Montreal.

Maybe it's anecdotal, but one person told me he had a friend who got arrested in those areas. And you know what? The undercover cop said "actually I'm 17 years old" and he still went.

I'm not trying to downplay the risks, but I think there are ways to protect yourself from it. From what I've heard the way they do this is that they make fake ads on leolist and such, as you're mentioning.. that wouldn't happen with agencies, MPs and reputable indies.

if you read about the program, it only applies to John's setting meetings with adult SP's.... If its a sting with underage sp then they don't have the opportunity to join the program and its straight to court and jail as it should be. So to be clear, there are massive operations in Longueuil and Sherbrooke targeting clients of adult and major independant SP'S.

It is also not anectodal when 2 major cities implement the program and the Gvt of Qc prolonges the program through 2029, rest assured they will be adding more and more cities. Adding more cities will normalize these actions and change public perception which tolerated this profession for a long time in the province.

I agree that for now, reputable Indies and MP's should be ok. But this is a game changer in the industry, it normalizes prosecuting clients in large volumes. Then, when police goes and closes all agencies and MP'S it will be perceived as normal in society. In the end, if I where an Indy I would worry that this plan will make women in this industry vulnerable to a society that will gradually become more and more judgmental about this profession. I think that is the message Sonya Von Sacher is trying to communicate publicly in fact.

But the thing is that in this guy's case, the cop advertised herself as an adult. What people don't understand is that really often underage girls are advertised as adults by pimps. There is a false belief in Quebec that most girls enter the industry as children literally and therefore most escorts would be underage which is false. In the case I'm describing the escort was not advertised as underage... But the cop told the guy "I'm 17" right before he showed up to the motel. This is literally the only story like this I've ever heard.

Society is already highly judgemental about this profession. Every year there is a campaign against sex work. There has already been a ton of discourse that conflated sex trafficking and sex work. It's nothing new.

However the positive thing is that many people in the industry and many organizations are advocating for decriminalization. A lot of orgs that were initially for the Nordic model are changing their minds lately because they see that it's not working to protect us.

I think it's pointless to create fear until something like this actually happens. The police doesn't have the resources to conduct massive operations like this. Even in places like Longueil and Sherbrooke. Yes I know this has happened but aside from this anecdote I haven't heard anybody tell me they actually knew of a client of theirs who was arrested.

Btw fake or sketchy ads on leolist that are easy to spot, either made by police officers and pimps, are not targeting the typical clients of "major independent SP" in my humble opinion. If you're a smart client it's pretty easy to avoid this.

Luna,

Let's stay away from friends of friends stories which in fact is off topic because this program targets clients seeking adult SP's and your story is about something everyone is against. In Longueuil, they targeted and arrested 242 clients of adult SP's they trapped by posting as Indies since the start of the program. It started in Longueuil about 3 years ago and now its very active in Sherbrooke as well; those are two major cities and the provincial governement is adding funding for 3 more years. It is not anecdotal, it is a major shift in how the Governement manages this industry. Oh and the police chief who launched the progam in Longueuil is now the chief in Montreal. These are all facts you can validate...

I don't know what to tell you. Are you communicating to clients that they should all quit seeing escorts?

Law enforcement rarely targets agencies directly, as long as they operate professionally, respectfully, and without criminal involvement. What typically draws police attention is when there are signs of coercion, trafficking, organized crime ties, or, most seriously, underage individuals being exploited. If none of those red flags are present, agencies usually stay off law enforcement’s radar. As for your question about whether police go after clients when an agency is busted: it's uncommon. In most cases, law enforcement lacks the time, budget, or incentive to pursue individual customers. Their focus tends to be on higher priority issues like weapons, gangs, and human trafficking. Chasing down clients isn’t a top concern, unless minors are involved. If underage individuals are found, the situation changes dramatically. Authorities will aggressively investigate and prosecute everyone involved, including clients. That’s one line that law enforcement does not overlook.Yes, prostitution is technically illegal, but enforcement tends to be selective. In many areas, authorities often turn a blind eye due to the tourism and economic activity the industry attracts.
That answers most of my concerns even if im mostly drawn towards incalls and MP's but since im in a serious relationship I tend to focus on activities without body fluid exchange since a condom can rip in the middle of action very annoying when it happends !!!!

Is that what drove your answers?

Honestly it is not my message, my message is sharing facts that are new and important. The Sherbrooke thred has 6 pages on this topics and Montrealers are not even aware....!

What people do in reaction is their call I have no advice for anyone. But I can tell you that I don't think it will be bad for business for you because you are an established professional so guys will actually feel safer going to you and other Indies with reputation rather han going to Leolist or such places..... At for a few years...

How this evolves long term is up in the air, the next governement might feel that this course of action is not ideal. If you read on the topic, you can see that Ontario and BC are not following suit with Quebec province because they chose other priorities. Also historically this approach has been tried and abandonned in different parts of the country. Or it could accelerate in the next 3 years and actions and perceptions could shift towards driving all of this industry further underground which I think will be a terrible net outcome. I think they need to spend their time catching the real criminels of this industry instead of all the clients they can...

My own approach is to keep to people I know and keep it occasional and stress free.
