subject says it all, if I meet a well reviewed independent at her apartment or incall agency, what are the chances of getting busted?

I have read the cops will not break down the door or anything but what COULD happen? A little nervous and I have a small window will my GF is away to see a SP so would appreciate any input.

Cheers,
Jerry

If you're talking about a bust that would occur to catch clients in regards with the new law, the probability is near zero. The Montreal LE has told they are not interested in doing it. If a bust occurs, it will be about the presence of a minor, a trafficked girl or dope, never for prostitution alone.

If the police start busting guys for the deed, with the new law it doesn't matter if you are doing an incall or outcall, you better call Saul. It's the act of paying that's now the problem, not incall or outcall.

But I imagine LE needs some probable cause in Canada just like the US. Someone better versed in Canada's probable laws can speak to that subject.

Patron, your statement "In every country in which this is illegal, you are entitled to privacy" is way off. In all countries, if they think you are breaking some law, there's no privacy.

I respect gugu's information that LE in Montreal have said they have higher concerns than the guy who is doing the hobby. There is no reason to doubt that since before C-36 became law, Montreal LE used their discretion in how they enforced the prior law. Under age was a much bigger priority than outcall agencies or incalls, as they state it is now. But it's on the books.

My take on this is this is now a question of voluntary enforcement. First and foremost they want all aspects of prostitution to remain underground and away from plain sight. Having said that with prostitution brings in all kinds of social and public disturbances such as sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and drugs to name a few. If they see there are too many public disturbances and enough citizens complain about it then they will shut it down. There was this one massage place I forget the name seemed it was popular here it got shut down since it was in a residential area and citizens were complaining. It is similar to all those stripclub busts and the reason they busted them was for disturbance of public peace. All aspects of the sex trade is vulnerable it is a sitting duck waiting to get shot. The message being sent is do not cause any trouble otherwise we will shut you down. So to answer your question... Right now incalls and especially outcalls are the least likely to get busted.

On my side I avoid going to any cheap motels (except for 1 girl which I completely trust), all salon de massage (because you never know where or when a bust will come) and any girl not reviewed here on Merb. Actually 90% of my encounters are from indy companion or my 2 agencies of choice (euphoria and Nadya, simply because of their good incall location for me). I feel 100% secure. Some girl of Indy will accept doing an email money transfer in advance, so you don't even need to cary cash. If there's no handling of cash, there is no crime I guess... right?

I actually recently talked to the capitaine "enquêteur" for the north shore of montreal (our son are friends!) and he confirmed their target are anything to do with minors, pimps, drug dealers, etc... They have above their head with just that. He did mention to avoid seeing SP during the Grand Prix as it may be a time when police will decide to do some bust... Just to calm down things and show to the media that they are doing their job. Personnaly I am not sure it will happen as the GP generates so much incomes and visiblity for Montreal... Above all, many policemen are client themselve you know... so it's not tomorrow that they will start busting regular johns ;)

Jalimon, I'm not going to tell you exactly where I live, but it's in southern NY state. There's a rub & tug spa that is only a few hundred feet from our county courthouse, sheriff's department, and county jail! The whole thing is a joke. Of course cops and lawyers go there for "relief" after work. That's probably why it's still there after all of these years.

JerryRogers, if you're in Canada, you have nothing to worry about. If you're in the US, you ALMOST have nothing to worry about. Just don't be stupid. Despite what you hear in the news, nobody cares if you want to see an escort... This includes people who work in hotels, btw. They might figure out what you're up to, but they'll look in the other direction soon after and they won't say a word to you.

As one of the poster said and in that article it was clearly to bust those that accept sexual services from a minor. These are the main reasons they do not want prostitution is due to the public disturbance surrounding it such as sexual exploitation of minors and drugs. This LE got zero tolerance for. In a Laval group home a bunch of young females ran away most likely pimps who were exploiting these girls into prostitution. Having said that do not have a false sense of security. All aspects of the sex trade is vulnerable... This what we see is voluntary enforcement... If there is too much public disturbance they will make a bust. Just like those who are driving above the speed limit cops choose to ticket or not. So if you go it is at your own risk. As one poster said is to be smart and take precautions. I would avoid backpage and annonce intime all together and avoid sketchy runned down motels.

Police in Toronto did a sting last fall, they placed an ad on backpage and arrested the men who showed up at the hotel
http://toronto.ctvnews.ca/york-police-arrest-22-men-in-underage-prostitution-sting-1.2650698

Yes but read the line "22 men from across the GTA are accused of seeking out the services of underage sex workers." It was a sting directly aimed at underage escort.

Gurgeh85 just mentionned it, "Don't be stupid!". Wanting to see underage is sick and stupid.

One important thing I always do, with first time escort, I always call, no SMS. About 4 years ago in the states, not naming where but it was in Florida where Micky Mouse lives, I called an escort out of backpage. No answer. Then I received an SMS saying to text her. I replied no. She insist and ask me to send a picture and if I had any references. I replied no again. Then she calls back, to my surprise it was a policeman who identified himself. I simply said I must have had a wrong number, which made him laughed ;) He did ask me to answer a few question honestly, which I did, then he said to have a nice stay in the city :)

Cheers,

Are you a cop, Jerry? If so, please don't fuck things up for your fellow officers who like to see escorts on a regular basis. If you're not a cop, stop being such a pussy and just call one of them already! It's no biggie!

Some of you guys have short memories lol. It was just a year ago that the incall location of a MERB advertiser agency was raided and, according to the news articles, some of the clients were arrested. I'm curious if anybody knows what happened to them :noidea:

I'm not trying to be alarmist and that agency was known for some questionable business practices. But it's not accurate to say there is 0% risk for incall, even in Montreal.

Look behind you.

If you do not have minors or drugs with your incall the risk factor is extremely low, never zero though.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the risk you take is having somebody make a complaint about your alleged illegal behavior. At an incall at a hotel, another guest can witness many guys going in and out of a room and make a complaint and call LE bypassing the hotel. Same thing can happen at a private residence.

Although less likely, an outcall situation can have a similar outcome. If you are at a hotel and someone notices a lot of girls coming and going into your room. Or if there is a disturbance by one of the SP's in your room.

I agree with arthur, it's not a 0% risk event, incall or outcall. Keeping with known agencies and the volume down may keep your risks much lower.

Funny how we all have the (almost) same queries when we decide to plunge in. My advise is go Indy companion or call a reputable agency, relax, and enjoy.

You're a party pooper, Art! There's always a risk when you want to see an escort. That's part of the attraction for some of us... But in Montreal, the risk is minimal. You really have to be particularly dumb to get yourself busted in Montreal.

The rule of thumb to follow and is pretty much what I noticed LE is following is that the sex industry best stay underground and away from plain sight and not cause any kind of public disturbance not limited to citizens complaining which goes to my former statement about it staying underground. This is what they followed with stripclubs and massage and probably with escorts. So long as no one complains and there is no public disturbance all should be well. So be very discreet, do not cause trouble and deter any possible trouble, stay away from drugs, and illegal possession of weapons.
