You might also want to go to Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup and clean up all temporary files.

Ok, this is the best thing to do for anyone who wants to browse the web or pick up e-mail from another PC and leave no trace...

http://portableapps.com/

this is a free suite of portable applications that can be run directly from any USB memory key. Just download it and install it on your portable memory stick/pen/key, whatever you happen to have. This way you can carry your favorites with you and use them on any system.

With the price of USB memory keys being so cheap, it's a great way to keep everything you do on the net very private and secure. This way you don't have to remember to flush your browser's history and internet cache. It also works on internet cafe systems so you leave no traces of your net 'travels'.

Bucky, right click on the windows taskbar, select properties, click on the customize button. On the page that will open, you can clear the list of recently used programs. On the advanced tab you can clear the list of recently opened documents.

Also, when you clear your browser cache don't forget to put a check in the box that says 'delete all offline content'. You can also configure the browser not to retain the browsing history, or set it to retain only one day.

1- For the history showing up when you type in an url in the address bar:

- Tools, Internet Options, Content, under "Personnal Information" click "AutoComplete...", uncheck "Web addresses". --But indeed clearing the history should have done the job alone, as noted in that window.

2- Google Toolbar still having an history:

-Click on the down arrow at the right of the google search box located in the toolbar, this should popup your most recent search history. Located at the lower right corner of that popup should be a "Clear History" blue link, use it. ;)

This should clear your concerns... next time opt for a U3 usb key as suggested above, it should save you alot of trouble.
