Is it my imagination, or has the SC scene and massage places gone dim since Coderre?

I don't have the numbers, but I think when a parlour closes somewhere, another one is opening up. A lot of areas are paralyzed by neverending construction work too, that's bad for any type of business.
The massage scene is not an issue in this campaign. Coderre's councilor/liar/crazy person Anie Samson soon realized back in 2013-14 she couldn't do much against MPs. As far as I know, Projet Montreal steered clear of the issue.
I think a woman mayor might be better, in the sense that she might understand better than the apparent quick fix ("let's put a lock on their doors") don't do shit for a complex issue from the perspective of women, their right to do what they please with their bodies, and their economic situation.
I don't think the upcoming election will have much impact on the rub'n'tug scene, but I trust Valerie Plante more than Denis Coderre and his habit of pushing dumb "common sense" bylaws that his docile little minions will vote for without standing up to him, and then will defend in the face of logic just to avoid admitting a mistake. Coderre could read Journal de Montreal one day and go into a populist crusade without thinking, because he's emboldened to do what he wants. This guy's bad news.
But again, I trust Valerie Plante as a person and as a politician over Denis Coderre on just about everything.

Mileage has went down the drain since Coderre. He is pushing for conservatism and wants to turn Montreal into a family church city. He even said himself that he did not want Montreal to be known as a sex touristic city. Since his arrival many tity bars got shut down, the red light district is gone. Coderre justs want the international spotlight to show to the world how politically correct he is and that he cares and is doing something. This guy needs to go.
Cloud coderre has nothig to do with sc going down. They shut down cus new generation not interested in this product. And i dont blame them. SC have to reinvent themselves to something different.
I know many like myself who see no interest in spending 200$ in such place... That would be much better spent on xo or euphoria

Not so. She knew exactly what it's all about way before being elected. She had to deal not with the parlors but with the mayor's idiot declarations. And she did that pretty well. Some parlors were asked to close/move, but otherwise this is quite a pure market in which the parlors open and close in reaction to the demand and the work force move quite freely towards the parlors that provide the best opportunities. Coderre gets his intelligence about the scene from Samson who gets her's from the SPVM, the last people who would suggest a hard line. Coderre will talk about it only if pressed to do so and. if so, he will say the same non sense as he did 4 years ago. But that will not have any consequences in the years to come.

Exactly. Altough SC can still be a "once in a while with friends" place to have fun, the reality is, why pay that much for just Tits and Ass grabbing? Back in the days when SC where everywhere it was 10$ a dance. Now these days at 20$ each .... a couple songs and you already aproching the 100$ spent... In regions i can still see some running fine since the escorts scene is almost non existant, but in Montreal... there is so much easy acces to women just as beautifull as at the SC and you can go the whole anchiladas... So well easy choice.
Internet has made the escorting business bloom hard with super easy acces to beautifull women and therefore as a 2 side balance it is killing the SC business.
What was your choice in the early 90s when it comes to escorts? Call a newspaper ads and hope that what the booker tell you is real? lol
And this is according to your own tastes? I dunno why people on this board keep on comparing SCs to escorts. The two are completely different types of entertainment. You want sex book an escort you want to watch nude women as in a bar atmosphere go to a stripclub. Me myself escorts does not interest me much. To throw $200 for one hour of a pizza delivery experience does not do it for me. MPs also does not interest me much it is kind of like getting operated on an operating table. To each their own. Having said that all aspects of the sex trade have went downhill including escorts. They are not making as much money as you think otherwise you would not be seeing so many ads. Merb represents a very small portion of all the sex business. The main reason it has went downhill is the economy. People have much less money to spend compared to 20 years ago. Sex entertainment needless to say is not a necessity but for some it is as it is their only way to experience intimacy with women.
As I have written below SC need to reinvent themselves completely because they do not appeal to the new generation. New generation grew up with Internet driven by porn sites. I think the idea of excitement of that generation is a lot different then just seeing nude woman dancing badly.

When I used to go to the winter nationals in Anaheim, there was a strip club with rwo pits, ine mud and one jello for wrestling, guys could pay $20 and also be able to join in. Pretty sure that would be a hit here.
