I am against having a best agency award

Why the heck not? Gotta back up a statement like that dude.... :p

I disagree myself....having a "best agency award" seems like a no-brainer to me.

Ditto with "best reviewer"...I'm surprised this is even a question.

For additional categories, we should probably have a "Best Selfie poster" category. The selfie thread started this year, and we should recognize it (especially since some of the posters really put alot of effort in making their posts original, entertaining, etc.)

Also, are we going to bother with a "best MP of the year" award this year? It's pretty obvious who's going to win, but it's still nice to be able to recognize all their hard work for the year.

I agree for best agency as well.

People can always give special mentions to Euphoria.

Much more people wants Agency of the year category so it will be in.

Still as cruel as it is all the ones named (girl or agency) should be currently active.

The main idea is to helps give us guidance on who are currently the best in the field. Correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers,

I agree with you Jalimon, but I also agree with Meta.
Euphoria should be eligible in their honour, but the votes for them would be non binding.

While I agree that this is the idea of the forum, it goes contrary to the general concept of award, which is to acknowledge the best for a specific duration in the past.

If Crosby has 140 points after 70 games, get injured and announces his retirement, he'll still get his trophies for that season.

Are 10 months of Euphoria better than 12 of the other agencies? That's for the voters to decide.

Regarding agency criteria:

This is a vote on 2017, no?

Euphoria existed for the first ten months of the year and certainly had a greater impact upon me personally than any other agency.

Why non-binding?

Is the vote only a promotional tool and not meant to reward what was truly best in 2017?

Anyone who didn`t write a review in 2017 should not be qualified to vote.

Although I understand your point, I would like to point out that there are many long time members on this board who book very regularly but barely ever post reviews. Due to the very intimate nature of those encounters, some clients don't feel comfortable sharing "publicly" their experience. My opinion is that it shouldn't prevent them to vote.

Yo we should definitely keep "best agency", what the hell?

all agency owners put a lot of work and should be recognized. I've met them all and they all work like slaves.

we gotta remember without them our hobby would be a nightmare because we'd be booking on backpages

That post alone made my day!
Thank you so much xoxoxox <3

Jasmine, you make a logical point and have a good argument, but the fact is that many who don`t post reviews still read them and get the benefit without the contribution.
When someone posts. they should write only details that they are comfortable with. Sometimes one or two sentences is enough. Some Unicorn ladies are very well reviewed and certainly must appreciate the positive feedback.

If you don`t share....you don`t care.
No reviews ....no vote.

I agree with cloudsurf. Also, if someone has not written a review, how do we (general public) know the validity of the account?

I kind of agree with Jasmine here.

Personally don't get into writing that many reviews anymore just because I don't get into it like I used too.

Then, if I am not within the first 1 to 5 posts then I let it go, lots of things are said already and anything after
will be all just repeats.

What else I can say / add about Sonia for example :)

Another point, IMHO

SP of the year should be just one SP

If you have best agency, best indy, then there will be 2 top ones, but who is the NO 1 Overall SP of the year ?.
that will be a question with no definite answer.

The reason I think it's fair to have best indy and best agency girl is simple :

I think it's pretty obvious that people on merb mostly book agency girls. Some dont book indies at all. And the opposite is also true, some dont book with agencies at all... But from what I see, more people stick with agencies.

And just because a girl sees more guys because an agency represents her doesn't mean she is "better". If a girl sees 300 clients a year, and another one sees 100 a year, then of course the first girl is most likely to have more votes. Does that mean the other one isnt good as well ?

I'm not sure I explain well. It's like asking québécois people if they prefer poutine or (insert an unknown dish from another continent)

Most likely poutine will win because most québécois never tried the other dish. But that doesn't mean the other dish can't be as good...

Does that make sense ?
