You mention taking time off to come back wealthier, which I take you mean finacially, and that you have women you don't have to make financial arrangements for. Sounds like you're jaded because you're seeing diminishing returns for what you're paying for and that the cost isn't worth it? Could you elaborate?

I have indulged in this hobby for a long time but have always taken long breaks when needed. (Becoming jaded, lack of excitement, relationships, financial or health and other personal reasons, etc.)

Taking time off always helped and allowed me to stay grounded and regain perspective. It is also important for me to have intimacy outside this hobby, to find other and more true connections.

For some it can however be an addiction with all the nasty mental side effects.

@Mandouke don't know how serious you feel the symptoms, but have you had a full physical recently ? Might want to look into your testosterone and cortisol levels as well.

If you're feeling jaded to the point of mentionning it here, you probably should take a step back for some YOU time.

I have been hobbying 4 to 6 times a month for quite a while and never thought about it much.
I've recently kind of met someone and if it works out, will at least pause.
I already read Merb less regularly and write much less frequently.

Ok. I think alot are trying to replace sps with companionship. Its a nono. Also hobbying and and paying for sex is fun initially but gets redundant and boring. I know for alot of you its the only way to get a fix on “your needs” get that dopamine hit. Essentially like being an addict. Wether it be drugs gambling alcohol etc . And the sad part is when you actually start relationship the intimacy is gonna be hard to establish with yourself and a significant other . Sharing intimacy is a gift and its precious.

Its good you started thinking about this cause it means your self reflecting and asking questions. You have that “ feel good “ in the action but then when you release, you feel like crap. And so what do you do to feel better, call another sp and and on. . Right now your like hamster in a wheel, just constantly trying to chase a dopamine hit. Its hard to get out. Once you come to this realization and you get a grip youll feel awesome and most important happy.

What I meant by taking time off and coming back wealthier is that I would not be spending the ridiculous amounts of money I currently am on SPs. The hand would get the workout.

What I said about women was that up until 5 years ago, when I started the hobby, I had access to meeting many women for sexual and relationship purposes.

The jaded feeling is a result of doing the same thing over and over (in the hobby) and dealing with the disappointments and sameness of all the encounters in the long run.

The feeling of being jaded is often attributed to the SPs themselves, but men also feel it, perhaps in slightly different ways.

I am reminded of the adage, "The chase is better than the catch". This would be a true statement in my pre-hobby days.

Maybe it's the post-coital stuff (cuddling, chatting, etc) that you're referring to? I think those things are important regardless whether it's with an SP, a casual fling, or within a relationship. Since we're talking hobby, a GFE SP could provide that, unless you feel that it lacks the same depth as with a regular partner.

No I have been doing it for 7 years now and I am fine with it.
The ladies I see are amazing and I still look forward to seeing them every time.
Not interested in dating, I don’t find ladies in my age bracket attractive, they have mostly already fucked up their lives and come with a lot of baggage and want a financial benefactor lol. I don’t want to deal with their families either and I don’t want my children /grandchildren to deal with them.

For now seeing these ladies is ideal and fun.
I have my friends and family, don’t need a girlfriend who would never measure up to the love of my life who I lost to cancer.
