Look behind you.
Got lucky with Husky Energy back in March, paid just under $3 now over $6, only other stock I now have is P&G which I have had and added to for decades. Lazy I guess.

If you want to do a poll on market returns post reasonable rates of return and losses . Sol Tee Nutz made a great buy with P & G and has left it alone to return growth and dividends, this is how you make money in the stock market, patience and time

just want to do a survey on how people doing in the stock market
Best Year ever!!!

Really hard to lose money in today’s stock market thanks to Big Government. Lots of so-called genius investors out there patting themselves on the shoulders but the Federal Reserve & other central banks basically saved the asses of these investors by buying up corporate bonds & backstopping the entire stock market. If the free market was truly allowed to function, Wall Street wld hv lost big time.

I moved to mostly cash by Feb & was truly surprised at how fast the central banks moved to backstop the stock market after mid-March. But unless yr stock portfolio is in the hundreds of millions, it’s easy to move in & out quickly. Besides, the central banks r now telling investors where to invest b/c that’s how they re-inflate the bubble & push economic growth.

By June, I was fully invested in Covid plays like AMZN, COST, PTON, ROKU, ZM. By Nov, rotated into Reopening stocks like DIS, EXPE, JPM, X, XOM. For those w/ greater optimism & risk appetites, there r always the cruise lines - CCL, RCL.

Wanna skip the stock research then just buy ETFs like SPY, QQQ. Can’t go wrong since Fed Chair Powell owns lots of them too.

Perfect timing Abathur!!
I will start investing tomorrow with my new Questrade account which was activated today..!
Studying the stock market became a hobby since the pandemic hit us, so it was time to make the plunge while I'll be home with not much to do, for the next two weeks.
I won't go for the big boys yet, I'm planning to have fun with penny stocks at first, maybe go the Kevin O'Leary way and make a few plays on psychedelic stocks which really do intrigue me..
Will we have a market crash, like some have suggested (including Buffett ), or are we on our way for another 10-year bull run ?
Anyways, the gambler in me is ready for some fun.!!
Give a month and I'll answer your survey:)

yeah, me too, I was surprised to see how fast the Fed saved the market and got in a bit too late, got in late April.

invested 50k, made 55k, so around 100% return so far, was not doing very well as I've seen some made 30-40x returns.

I was going to say "Don't believe everything that Kevin O'Leary says " but I think more like "Don't believe ANYTHING Kevin O'Leary says " One last thing, "Never gamble with your savings !"

Think u absolutely made the right move to wait for better visibility. When market volatility (VIX) shoots up, always wise to be cautious because many of the highly leveraged hedge funds can & do blow up.

I have invested in equity markets for years and sadly, seen many buddies make big one year then lose even bigger the next. Always tell myself to stick to a tried & tested investment process otherwise it’s just gambling.

Hate some of those CNBC commentators that scream Buy, Buy, Buy before u miss the boat. It gets serious real quick when people lose their life savings & more.

There’re always money making opportunities in the market so no fears on missing whatever boat.

It’s great that more people r investing their money in the stock market. Lots of my Wall Street friends bitch about amateur day traders on Robinhood & eToro but many of these new investors r freakin smart & disciplined. Besides, it’s usually the Wall Street traders making the really stupid plays & losing other people’s money. Everyone shld be allowed to invest & grow their money, not just the top 1%.
