Which places would you say are better options that are not third world countries.
Ha! That depends on what you consider to be a third world country. It's an outdated term by most standards, but it hasn't really been replaced by anything generally accepted and precise. Most people would say that anything that isn't NA or Europe is 3rd world, but not really so. Most would actually be considered 2nd world or semi developed as opposed to third world, which usually means much of africa and the less developed countries in Asia, plus some central America, Cuba and Haiti. Still, to answer your question, most of Europe, about half of South America, probably only Panama in Central America, large parts of southeast Asia. Pretty much anywhere you want to go. We're chauvinistic about out culture, and we like living where we live (mostly) but as a place to monger Montreal is only the best of the worst (North America), Virutally anywhere else is better to monger. That doesn't mean that I'd want to live in all of them. However, if the OP was tying his residential decisions strictly on the basis of mongering he could do far better in a huge variety of other places.

St Maarten is pretty good. Columbia is off charts. Friends told me London is surprisingly good but I haven’t experienced.

Ask what time it is, get a dissertation on watchmaking. I jest!! ;)

Not really. For me personally I’ve been considering a place near Toronto instead. Only because the scene in Montreal is just not worth it anymore IMHO. The appeal of Montreal for me was the affordable prices, nightlife, cleanliness, overall safe, and a quick drive from NYC. With the deterioration of the city, the homeless, lack of a vibrant nightlife, and escort prices close to being what I could get in Toronto it’s almost a no brainer for me.
Interesting perspective IamNY. I think you and I have used same agencies in NYC and NJ region. (And we certainly hit the same underground clubs. That makes me chuckle when those outside NYC think the only services that are offered are those visible on TER and Tryst. There’s a whole world here they don’t know about).

You think Montreal has dropped off that much that Toronto is a better city for weekend trip? Wow. That speaks volumes.

Toronto is a longer drive but the flight time is about same as Montreal. And you get baseball in the spring!
