Merb View Count Calculation

When you filter forum posts by view count and it shows a certain number views next to each post, is that unique merb accounts that viewed it ?
Or anytime ANYONE (with or without an account) views it it adds to the view count ? (Since we dont use VPN i assume the server can tell if it's a distinct view or not)

By default Xenforo the view count increments by one each time a thread is viewed. Unless a special extension is installed, this includes multiple views by the same user; there's no distinction between unique and repeat views. Visits from bots, such as search engine crawlers, are also counted in the view totals. The total is updated on a delay (not real time) for performance reasons.
