Practice makes perfect, as they say.His French was like 6 words and he sounded like some guy from NDG who had been practicing those six words for several weeks.

Alice Roby... dans les années 40-50-60 elle était connue à travers le monde entier Europe / Afrique / Asie / Pacifique... Je pense que seul les pingouins ne la connaissaient pas .
His French sounded like mine.Practice makes perfect, as they say.I am sure he also practiced his English lines before each episode of the Star Trek was filmed.

How can your list not include GSP George St-Pierre? I mean... the GOAT of fighting...Interesting topic. My choices (probably in that order too):
Celine Dion
Leonard Cohen
William Shatner
Oscar Peterson
Gilles Villeneuve
Jacques Villeneuve
Pierre Trudeau
Mario Lemieux
Eugenie Bouchard
Leyla Fernandez
Hey. I thought of including GSP. He is one of the biggest stars of MMA, but I thought tennis was more popular globally. And I wanted to keep the list to 10. Maybe I put too much thought into this!!How can your list not include GSP George St-Pierre? I mean... the GOAT of fighting...
You did a good job, except that Shatner is #1 on any list that is real and takes into consideration the global impact of the person through multiple genres and medias. There seems to be a lot of confusion about popularity within Quebec vs. popularity outside Quebec and people are not paying attention to the thread title, but your top ten list is fair, just the order is disputable.Hey. This is not scientific. I also debated that question. I felt music had a farther reach internationally than TV or cinema. For example, it would be easier to be exposed to an artist‘s song in a cab or a bar on the radio than to watch a TV episode or movie. This debate is likely to go on for ever! You did a good job, except that Shatner is #1 on any list that is real and takes into consideration the global impact of the person through multiple genres and medias. It's not just TV and Cinema, as your "debate" failed to take into consideration the substantial impact of multi media marketing of a large international corporation that is a giant in the travel industry. Every person in every country of the world who has ever used Priceline- BILLIONS of people- have seen these images for the last 20 years:I also debated that question. To the extent you are implying it is a website only for Americans, this is completely untrue and has been for 20 years. It is an American based company (in fact Connecticut based), but foreigners are and have always been able to use the website. Many Canadians I know have booked hotels in Montreal using Priceline going back 20 years. This is also true of Europeans, using European credit cards and addresses. I have used Priceline to book hotels in Canada the past 20 years and in all that time every hotel in Montreal had significant Priceline inventory.Priceline is an American site.
This statement is also not true, unless you consider the internet as only existing in the USA. Priceline has advertised heavily online, not just in television media. His adds were not broadcast outside the USA.
I think I'm starting to get your point now, you consider the USA as The World! Right? That world-famous Quebecer, William Shatner
Last time I checked the USA was part of the worldI think I'm starting to get your point now, you consider the USA as The World! Right?
