Can't we all just get along?
While I can certainly agree that the days of excessive choice and low prices are gone (until the next severe economic downturn) Montreal does still offer some gems that frankly, are not available in the states. Besides, even though the times have changed, it's hard to deny that this is a city in which it's very hard NOT to have a good time!
I'm up here now on a trip - I did quite a bit of research - booked ahead whenever possible and have, thus far, been batting 1000. (Yes, detailed reviews are forthcoming)
If you're looking for other "Mecca-like" locations - high quality supply, low dollar cost of entry - you may need to travel a bit "OK further.
Two of my personal favorites are Australia/New Zealand and Prague. New Zealand is a particular bargain - very high quality in-call in a luxurious environment is available for approx. US$ 80. There were some incredible outcalls available in Wellington, NZ for US$65 (but I think that the damn Lord of the Rings may have ruined that deal!)
