You always draft the center first before the winger since wingers are a dime-a-dozen. Just like in the NFL....draft the big QB or the big pass rusher first before the runnings backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers, etc.

Laine has actually regressed. He went from 44 goals two seasons ago to only 30 last season. I don't know where you're getting your news about Laine and Matthews being debated whom should have been picked first but that's the first time i hear about this since their first season in the league.

Many predict that Matthews will score 50 goals in 50 games if he remains healthy. And many have no clue who Laine's season will go since his production has been in decline over the past two seasons. I've always found him to be a bit of a flake, which is why i never would have drafted him first overall.

Yes...OILERS just did it....3-1 vs RANGERS..a perfect 5-0.....une première since 84-85....:yo:....Connor and Leon put on again a great performance.

Interesting...DAVE TIPPET said he was happy to b back in Canada to coach a canadian team....and wanted to bring stability to this team.....until now mission accomplie.....we forget to give him some credit for what's happening....

The Lightning were on the road the last 4 games and lost 3 of the 4, the only win coming vs. Maple Leafs. They need to get back to Florida and regroup. A disappointing start for them.

And who is assisting Pastrnak on all those goals? It is his linemates Marchand and Bergeron, that's who. Pastrnak is getting the glory while his linemates do the dirty work. I do give Pastrnak credit as he has improved himself every single year he has been in the league, and last year was finally his first year with over a point a game, scoring a beastly 81 points in just 66 games. But he has a lot of help.

Avs are now 5-0-0, while sadly the Devils have not won a single one of their 6 games. I really thought the acquisitions of Subban, Simmons and Hughes would improve the Devils, but so far it is just not happening for our favorite inhabitants of Hell.

PANTHERS 6 NJ 4.....wow....what a comeback,,,,,,Devils were leading 4-1 and bang bang Panthers scored 5 straight goal to win.....am pretty sure coach Quenneville has something to do with that win.....

Jack Hughes has zip pt in 6 games...:confused:

COL 6-3.....Rantanen 3 pts.....they look very good....and Kadri is a big plus.i

The Devils have lost several games in this fashion, having a big lead and then allowing an avalanche of goals. Hughes lack of points is concerning but not entirely surprising. He lacks the physical prowess at this time and needs to grow into his body.

Yep....big night..... third straight win for the SHARKS.....they look better since MARLEAU is back.....with the lost of PAVELSKY Marleau brings leadership and inspiration....and yep what a night for McDavid...his goal a beauty.

First lost for COL 3-2 on a shorthanded goal----bizarre goal--Landeskog redirected in his own net a shot from Tanev....another good game by the Pens.

TORONTO after leading 2-0 lost 4-3 to CAPS....WASH scored 3 goals in 1min18...wow....HUTCHISON !!!!!.....LEAFS should look for Louis Domingue..a true competitor.
