I listen to local radio a lot (in my car, while doing the dishes etc) and out of the blue on Cogeco 98.5FM (one of the most listened to stations in Mtl), since this morning, there are ads about how buying 'sexual services' is a criminal offence. ''Let's stop sexual exploitation'' is the last line. Ads are ''sponsered'' by the gov of QC...No mention of trafficking, no mention of minors, just buying sexual services in general...yikes

Where did this come from all of a sudden? Who is the ad targeted to? Normally I would blow something like this off, but I listen to that station a lot, and to be reminded and threatened like this every 15 minute cycle is a little disconcerting to say the least. Is this another conservative Lego thing? Is it a precursor of something larger afoot? Or maybe I'm a little paranoid :)

Tried looking up what government body might be at the origin of such an ad, but did not find anything.

Sting operations to follow. Be careful people. La CAQ is hungry for votes. This is political.

As I said many times that enforcement is selective. At any time they could go full blown puritanical like in the US.

not very reassuring lol

i wonder if there have ever been ads like this in Toronto or Vancouver

Its probably like the ads during Grand-Prix week, nothing much ever comes of it, but I just find it strange that all of a sudden there are these "PSAs"
