Rogers' vaccination status, occasional prima donna attitude, and sensitivity to criticism are all irrelevant to whether he should be MVP. He would get my vote. I have watched numerous of his games this year and he is a maestro. He almost never throws a pass that is not directly on the money

AB Releases Statement, Accuses Bucs of Forcing Him To Play Through Injury, Says Shows Ankle Broken and Ligament Torn:
My read on this if that MRI result is accurate is that the Bucs panicked down 24-10 to the Jets and order an injured player back in the game. Ironically they won the game without Brown re-entering.

Interesting developments, but Antonio Brown's statement doesn't absolve him. Instead, a murky situation just got murkier. If he was that injured, why didn't the team know the extent of the injury and why was he in uniform? Was he even listed on injury report for last Sunday's game (week 17)? The one link I bothered looking up said yes.

Based on Damien Woody's comments from that ESPN video that Brown claimed he didn't know what the Toradol shot is for when most players know its purpose, you can see the blatantly self-serving nature of Brown's statement. So I don't doubt that he was injured because of the report and playing through injuries, even serious ones, is de rigeur in the NFL. It's the severity and if the injury had anything at all to do with Sunday's blowup that we don't know. Had he not behaved poorly with previous teams and off the field, he'd probably get the benefit of the doubt.

I would have saved myself from typing all that if I just read ESPN'S story about his release.

From the team: "While Antonio did receive treatment on his ankle and was listed on the injury report the week leading up to last Sunday's game, he was cleared to play by our medical team prior to the start of the game and at no point during the game did he indicate to our medical personnel that he could not play.

"We have attempted, multiple times throughout this week, to schedule an evaluation by an outside orthopedic specialist, yet Antonio has not complied. Maintaining the health and wellness of our players is of the utmost importance to our organization."

The story I heard is that Brown had an opinion in his favor from Martin O'Malley at Hospital of Special Surgery who is a MAJOR top dog orthopedic surgeon, and the Bucs turned around and requested an IME (independent medical examination) by some much younger and less experienced surgeon at HSS. This was a hard slap in Brown's face.

Chouin Steelers are not in yet. If the Chargers and Raiders tie in tonight's game, Steelers are OUT. The Chargers and Raiders know this and will play for a tie if necessary. A tie puts in Raiders and Chargers as all 3 teams would be 9-7-1.
I knew but I like my chance!

I like Steelers chances too but both Raiders and Chargers know they are in with a tie. If it's 24-21 late and a FG can tie you might not want to watch.
True, but those teams don’t like each other’s so I expect that killer instinct from both.

And just like that the Steelers are still in it and the Chargers are out. I thought for sure the Raiders would let the clock run out in the end to ruin the Steelers chances to be in the playoffs. boy was I wrong. Excellent finish to the regular season.

The Ravens probably had the most unfortunate season of any NFL team this year. They had key injuries before and during the season. And they also lost a number of games in which their coach (Harbaugh) gambled on risky 4th down and other plays that failed. Of the top half of the NFL teams, they clearly had the most miserable luck this year.

The NFL is extremely competitive and not much separates teams that are 13-4 from those that are 8-9.

You’re right in addition the AFC North had the toughest schedule in Football this year(specially Steelers and Ravens). But to be honest there is really no excuse for closing the season with 6 lost in a row.

It was brutal yes, but they had their starting QB for how many of those games?

Brady or Rodgers for MVP? This article pretty much summarizes the arguments for each guy. It is a legitimately very close race. I think having watched many of both players' games it is indeed very close, but my vote would go to Rodgers. I think many in the media dislike him and will vote for Brady, and Brady will win the award, but we will see what happens:
